Doubt it's full HD, probably HD ready which means it's the same as the one at Game for R7999-00. The PS42B430 is the latest rendition of the Samsung 42" Plasma, has 2000,000:1 contrast ratio and 100Hz (claimed 0.001ms)... I'm yet to watch a game of rugby on mine but will be interesting to see how these specs translate in actual performance terms...Anybody had a look at the 107cm Samsung plasma at furniture city for R8999? It's on their website under the promo pages. It says HD, does this mean it's full HD?

Yeah. I'm one confused puppy, got the 42" Sinotec LCD for the room and subsequently changed it for the Sammy Plasma PS42B430. I love the Plasma but the glare is aggravating...I keep forgetting - do you have this one?

Quite right, seen that model on the Samsung website..Actually there is a model PS42B450 which is sold by Stax.Has more inputs e.g 3 HDMI ports with inputs also on the side of the set.Certain other inputs as well otherwise the same.
100%, it's a very safe buy the Sinotec...you went to the darkside sandman....! but at least you gave the smaller guy a chance before switching.but i know for a fact i would never put the Sinotec downstairs for SD but if we switched to HD id give it a shot. The HD feed at game looked great. So moral of the the thread is if you wanna jam xbox or ps3 in Full HD and use the tv for entertainment purposes like watching DVD or blu ray this is one AWESOME deal.but if you wanna watch the Springboks with your current DSTV setup dont expect any awesome quality.i dont have a dstv feed upstairs but im happy with my Sinotec.
60 months Guarantee..... im covered until August 2014! I know my luck if i bought the Samsung it wouldve gone pop after 15 months.....![]()
does anyone know where i can get a component cable for a decent price? this place i went to charged R463? Does that sound normal.wow
..........Always been a big fan of Sinotec and still maintain for the price they outstanding but at the end of the day you get what you pay for...
matt,i agree with you.
if you have 30k - buy yourself a samsung led 42"....why not?
but if you have 8k, the sinotec is just as good.
I also thought about putting a sammy logo on it but after 2 weeks i was a proud sino user.
If you have R900 The Seafood Platter for 2 at "Gino Antonio's Cafe" is awesome, but if you only have R100 the Bottomless prawns special at Jimmy's goes down just as good.
