Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

Anybody had a look at the 107cm Samsung plasma at furniture city for R8999? It's on their website under the promo pages. It says HD, does this mean it's full HD?
Doubt it's full HD, probably HD ready which means it's the same as the one at Game for R7999-00. The PS42B430 is the latest rendition of the Samsung 42" Plasma, has 2000,000:1 contrast ratio and 100Hz (claimed 0.001ms)... I'm yet to watch a game of rugby on mine but will be interesting to see how these specs translate in actual performance terms...

I keep forgetting - do you have this one?

Yeah. I'm one confused puppy, got the 42" Sinotec LCD for the room and subsequently changed it for the Sammy Plasma PS42B430. I love the Plasma but the glare is aggravating...

As hard as it is to admit I prefer the Samsungs...

Always been a big fan of Sinotec and still maintain for the price they outstanding but at the end of the day you get what you pay for...

Actually there is a model PS42B450 which is sold by Stax.Has more inputs e.g 3 HDMI ports with inputs also on the side of the set.Certain other inputs as well otherwise the same.

Quite right, seen that model on the Samsung website..

you went to the darkside sandman....! but at least you gave the smaller guy a chance before switching.but i know for a fact i would never put the Sinotec downstairs for SD but if we switched to HD id give it a shot. The HD feed at game looked great. So moral of the the thread is if you wanna jam xbox or ps3 in Full HD and use the tv for entertainment purposes like watching DVD or blu ray this is one AWESOME deal.but if you wanna watch the Springboks with your current DSTV setup dont expect any awesome quality.i dont have a dstv feed upstairs but im happy with my Sinotec.
60 months Guarantee..... im covered until August 2014! I know my luck if i bought the Samsung it wouldve gone pop after 15 months..... :p

100%, it's a very safe buy the Sinotec...

does anyone know where i can get a component cable for a decent price? this place i went to charged R463? Does that sound normal.wow

I still have mine hanging on my wall at home, and I'm loving it...

OCCASIONALLY I will notice the response time, but its so rare, and HD streams on the machine look awesome to say the least.

ok thanks Smurf. my current setup is running av - av - would it be worth the cash to buy the component cable or is the difference on a dvd player slight.i know when i realised that component is meant for my xbox i was shocked at the quality compared to av.lol

its all about wanting the best.....if you can afford a R20000 full hd tv what is the problem with chucking in an extra 15k and getting one of the led what nots.the biggest problem with this tv market is the whole idea of 'if i just add the extra 2k or 3k - then i get this bla bla bla'.buy if you like me and youve just entered the workplace and you really want 42' now and you really think its HEAVY to spend +R10000 for a tv then i dont know how the Sinotec is a bad buy.ok so i got what i paid for? Full HD xbox gaming = Superb - havent enjoyed gaming like this in years. VGA output from my laptop = excellent quality with any shows or movies im watching. Tested a full HD clip and the quality is amazing.maybe i should just peel pick the Sinotec label off and get a Samsung tag.its been 1 week now and everytime i walk into my room i still go 'WOW thats nice'.
yeah 5 year guarantee is there aswell and maybe the screen does mess up and il let you guys know as soon as possible.but for me right now this was the only choice.maybe 10 years from now if im still single and making better cash il go for the big boys.

its basically like this - ever had Pick n Pay Marie Biscuits. yes you can tell there is a difference between them and Blue Label Marie's but man if you real hungry you will wack a pack of Pick n Pay easy plus you save R2 :p Dont get me started on the R5 baked beans ;)

matt,i agree with you.

if you have 30k - buy yourself a samsung led 42"....why not?
but if you have 8k, the sinotec is just as good.

I also thought about putting a sammy logo on it but after 2 weeks i was a proud sino user.

the 8k sinotech just as good ! sigh.. i can't let you get away with that :p

sinotech cant beat the products in its range, but now its comparable to LED, which the best LCD's aren't close to :)

i think this thread needs to be renamed... "i have a sinotech, and im going to make sure everyone else has to deal with one to" :P

no you're not hearing what im saying....

read this "Review"

If you have R900 The Seafood Platter for 2 at "Gino Antonio's Cafe" is awesome, but if you only have R100 the Bottomless prawns special at Jimmy's goes down just as good.

If you have the money, great, if not, don't worry.

It's like bluray vs DVD - if you don't have R3000 for a bluray player, don't fear, the DVD players are R200 and just as good.

I know it's not *exactly* there but what i'm saying is the Difference isnt really R35000 better - how much "brighter" colors can it show for 35 thousand bucks? should everything look like neon? does prison break look like a freaken hallucinogenic disco on those sets?

seriously man...am I the only one here that sees it this way?
