Makro Sinotec Full HD Special

Picture is crisp and clear and no ghosting what so ever when gaming or PC movie. The only problem I have is that when in full HDMI 1080p then the desktop seems to be bigger than the screen. When I maximize a window while on full resolution, the top blue header part of a window maximizes out of the screen. I have not found a workaround for this yet other than to reduce the resolution.
I'm also unable to crop or adjust the TV screen the same way you would do a computer LCD screen by resizing the desktop to fit into the screen.

Is the desktop not just shifted upwards? i.e. there is a black strip at the bottom of the screen. You can correct that with powerstrip. Otherwise there is some scaling being done if it doesn't fit the screen exactly at 1920x1080.
 
Test

I'll plug my 22" out tonight and only run with the 47" at full HDMI and see if the 2 screens are affecting each other. You can maybe try the same when you get your unit. If your's don't do the same, mine is faulty?:mad:

Does anyone here who's got a Full HD Sinotech have any problems using the HDMI to connect to a PC. It will be my primary PC screen as the Samsung is at the moment. I cant use the HDMI with my Samsung as there is some scaling done as the resolution is 1366x768 and not 1280x720. So I've got to use a VGA cable which has some ghosting if you look closely. With Full HD, 1920x1080 I believe there should be no problem using the HDMI cable?

listen bro, get the 42"......47" is gonna make ur eyes explode after 3 hours use.

BTW it will work perfectly, as long as you are happy with the colors/etc...

the resolution is 100%.

but seriously man, 47" ? what are you gonna do, watch movies or play games or what?

use your 3D Card Options to do it, there should be a few options as to scaling/panning/etc

Do you mean Nvidia settings? Because I tried all those.
I don't know of any other to access screen / resolution adjustments
 
hmm...havent used nVidia in a while so im not sure....i'm sure one can! i'll check the tv options too tonight.

47" is so much bigger! Am going to play games on it mostly. I sit about 1.5 meters away from my 32". So will sit about 2-3 meters away from the 47". From my calcs the pixel size will increase by around 4%. So the level of detail should be similar to my 32" HD Ready Samsung from the same viewing distance. Only thing is the screen will be about 50% bigger! :)

In the Sinotec menu you have to look for the option "Overscan". Enable that and then the 1920x1080 screen should fit perfectly on the LCD.
 
Went to makro today and bought the lg 32lf20 full hd for R5999 was R8000. Was a bit sceptical as i originally wanted the samsung, but the deed is done.Wow am i happy the colours are so detailed even on sd. My dad has a sony 32inch in the lounge and sorry to say it but the sony looks cheap next to the lg, the difference in clarity is huge. Im gonna use it to play xbox only and connect my laptop.

Funny but their were about 5 people ahead of me all buying sinotecs.
 
TV on the 47"

So I tried out the TV last night... if your reception is good, this LCD has no problem displaying SABC 1,2,3,E. Go Survivor China! These feeds didn't come from a DSTV box either. I can't wait for some rugby or cricket now :)

I also got a movie to play on 1 screen and a game to run on the other, but if the mouse flows over to the movie side and I click, Demigod crashes. Oh well, I checked DOTA and that locks the mouse onto the screen so I'm good to go on old faithful (which is still more fun in my opinion) :)

Anybody who knows how to keep your screens separate or lock your mouse in a game so unless you alt+tab out you won't be able to move to another screen?:confused:
 
I don't know why you keep pimpin this inferior 42" to the 47" owners.
We will not bow down (to a tiny screen) ever again ;)

I just meant it's awesome to play it on a large screen (since you like dota) - and I'm sure it looks better on a 47" but from experience i've only seen it on a 42" so far.

other stuff to watch are the IMAX's - in 1080p of course...

Keeper, how do games run at 1920x1080. Do you experience any lag with your 4870x2? I've just got a single 4870 with a E5200, both overclocked. At 1360x768 I run everything on max with AA. Except for Farcry2, GTAIV and Crysis which are almost maxed.
My only concern about getting the 47" is that games are going to chug on it unless I upgrade a bit.
 
they run fine IMO - especially with ATI cards these days....

it's not like the old days where the bump from 600x480 to 800x600 made a huge difference - these things are benched at insane resolutions these days..

Farcry was no problem for me, haven't played gta IV, and Crysis I havent played again since the upgrade.

the 4870x2 is a beast and haven't found any problems running anything really, even at 1920x1080, and i'd say you are safe with a 4870 - might just need to get a better cpu IF you get problems later on running at 1920...

you will be fine man, don't worry... games as requiring as crysis and as buggy as gta IV come once in a blue moon...

You've convinced me :)
Will upgrade to a Q9550 and get a crossfire board and stick in another 4870 or buy a new 5000 series card if I have problems.
Now just have to wait for my December bonus and the next special...

wearing sunglasses when surfing late at night helps, plus it makes you look cooler at the same time :D

What does a 42" go for?
 
hmm...dunno when there are specials on again, I suggest you wait for some of the more clued up members post an update

but here are some current prices:

(makro)
LG 32" (81cm) Full HD LCD TV - R6000
SAMSUNG 37" (94cm) Full HD LCD TV - R9000
LG 42" Full HD LCD TV - R10 000

trying to find more but the web is so slow now atm..

anyway, wtf is up with this:
Sinotec 42" (107cm) HD Ready LCD TV - R8000

HD Ready?

Please do not get an HD ready set if you're intending it for PC use!

anyway, last ive heard it was the 47" Full HD LCD going for 10k, so i guess 42" could be around R7500 - R8000 ? (when on special)

also remember game will beat any price, even if it's a special afaik - so if makro do it at R8000, you can always get game to go lower!
