The other option is to wall mount just above cabinet/stand that way cables are not visible and everything looks rather neat and you still have place for AV components and center channel speaker etc..



Very importantly do not mount the screen to high, eye level when seated should be about one third from the bottom of the screen I would say.

Thanks and kind of, it's all modular so I "designed"/worked out the configuration/spec myself.

It was sent flat packed in a box and I assembled it this side.

They do not have an agent in SA but I have a contact at the factory in Switzerland

just a warning, knowing quite a bit about LCD and plasma and all the stories and ins and outs.

don't trust most of what these guys have said its biased BS in my opinion. must i trust joe with his lil comparison and what they think, or major websites that do these tests.

just thought i'd tell you rather us google.

and if you just gonna use it to watch TV and DVD's and the odd HD movie. Sinotech will be hundreds.

and please ask what cable they are using - cause they sometimes use RGB cables - dunno if it's to do with the max length a HDMI can handle or what...

also heard they put the better quality demo reels on the Expensive Sony Bravia's and whatnot, but not as good quality stuff on the cheaper TVs...

EDIT: when i was there they had a low quality feed of "a bugs life" running to the sinotec, but a FullHD (I'm sure it was) demo reel of bright colors of bugs in nature and butterflies in slow-mo/etc, probably through HDMi

Just to add to the chorus - I'm also the happy owner of a Sinotec full HD 42" LCD - had it for just over a year now. Haven't been anything but happy...

One issue to report: About 2 months ago, the set started refusing to display a 1080p signal over HDMI. I got in touch with the distributors and they've offered for a technician to come to my home & replace the offending circuit board. Just haven't gotten around to arrange it yet...

I just wish their plasma body was also completely black like the LCD.
Looks so much better with a completely black frame.
The silver strip at the bottom of the Plasma is the only thing putting me off at the moment.
