To be fair, Pitbull doesn't sound like an average dog owner. He still has ability to distinguish dogs from human life forms with relative ease.

Can confirm that it works. To elaborate;

You don't just choke; you choke, pull the dog up off of its front feet (it will run out of oxygen and release) and twist them away from one another. Don't pull them backwards away from one another. Pulling backwards can increase injuries if their bites are still locked and it allows them to maintain eye contact, a major thing when it comes to dogs and aggression. Twisting them away serves to break eye contact and this can assist in calming things down faster. With their front legs off the ground they lose a lot of their leverage while giving you leverage to manhandle them and it increases pressure on their airways.

Your dog (any dog) should also wear a collar permanently as it can be used in the unfortunate event of a fight/attack as you don't have to waste time looking for a leash or belt. Just grab and twist the collar then lift the dog.

I will not enter a property or visit friends if there are Pitbuls or German Shepards not locked away, and I will never have them as a pet or close to a kid.

Was visiting friends one day when one of their 3 loving German Sheppards just randomly walked to me in the living room and started growling in my face. Few months later they killed the creature becaue it tried to murder their kid.
 
I am generally apprehensive when it comes to Pitbulls.
Staffies less so, they are joyful, playful dogs. They never ever seem to be in a bad mood and they are generally quiet.

I will never understand why people raise their dogs to be overtly aggressive. People should really research about a dog breed and train them properly.

Then again, I have heard of one case in JHB where two intruders were ripped apart by 2 Borzoi's. Those dogs do not readily bark, so the intruders most likely never saw heard or saw then coming.

German Shepards are sometimes too smart for their own good. One of ours also got jealous easily. Especially if a new child comes into the family after them. So one needs to bring them up together and make sure that the dog also feels like part of the family.

That day might just still come. My black lab is a gentle loving dog, until anybody upsets my son. My son always plays with him, so anyone playing to rough with the boy upsets the dog to a point I have to throw myself infront of the dog to stop the dog from biting whoever upsets my son. That only happened once but we are now very much aware of that and makes sure when kids comes over to take the dog to the back just in case. Although I agree with you completely on this case, this dogs needs to be licenced, this happens way to much.

My neighbour's 10 yr old daughter walks their pitbull on a leash, the dog just pulls her around to where ever it wants to go. I shudder to think what will happen if it decides to go for someone one day.

my bad. scary stuff, these dogs can jump damn high.

when some dogs play fight they can get pretty aggressive and competitive, dart off in a direction to be the first to grab a toy or something.

Lots of dogs are capable of scaling high walls. I see jack russells do these the most
 
Is it not about time that these vicious things be outlawed as pets? They should be culled and wiped off the face of the earth or be exiled to the wild. I wish they were engineered to kill their owners only when they start craving human flesh.

My dogs are engineered killers. I have no doubt about that, and that's the reason I have them. I have not had a house break since owning Pitbulls. I have once seen blood against the wall where one dog grabbed someone who either tried to scale the wall, or scaled it and got rekt by one of the dogs and luckily made it over the wall again.

They are guard dogs first and foremost. They are treated as guard dogs not "kids/family" They get all the attention and love they needs/long for. But they are guard dogs. Simple as that.

A dog should know it's role and behave. It is not family.

Depends on the culture you're dealing with...

Mine are part of my family, and I would have it no other way. People who have an issue with how I treat my animals in that respect can find another house to visit and not mine.
