Manual vs Automatic

They have to "floor the accelerator". The idiots who take forever to pass are caught between not wanting to exceed the speed limit and wanting to pass.
No.

I'm constantly amazed at how many people don't understand how or when or why to gear down in a manual car. They aren't taught these things, and even the K53 systems encourages idiocy with it's taboo on gearing down when slowing down, meaning moron new drivers don't understand the basic principles behind the functioning of the machine they are operating.

Because under K53 by the time you've checked every mirror and blindspot 15 times the opportunity has already passed to overtake anyway.

and v8 sounds from the speakers
Like modern combustion engine vehicles. Watched an interesting clip recently of how BMW have employed audio engineers to "perfect" the engine sound that's played through the speakers - for their non-electric vehicles.

Just so damned disappointing that they need to do that kind of shyte these days :(

Good old fashioned real engine noise, none of this fake engineered crap through the speakers please.

Hell, and it doesn't even need to be a throaty V8. A good straight 6 sounds glorious on its own.

It's just one of the sad changes they've had to make because of emission regulations. Have to make smaller engines, but then bolt on turbos to get some of the power back. And that sweet roar is the first casualty.

One of the glorious parts of having a car with a mighty roar is subjecting everyone else to it, piping that through the speakers defeats the purpose

Unless it's some idiot with a freeflow exhaust and a 4 cylinder engine that sounds like it's about to implode.

Coupled with how insulated modern cars have become, you can barely hear any outside noise in some modern cars these days.

That's why they make windows.. how else can you hang your arm out the window like a boss?

Granted in SA they may as well not make opening windows because of the beggars and criminals accosting you at every stop, you eventually leave them permanently shut no matter what.

Fitted to motorised bicycle?
Nope...
