I think it is end of line for the specific inverter maybe.

MECER Axpert MEX Hybrid 1500VA / 1200W Inverter Charger, 500W MPPT.

RCT didn't have a similar one, only smaller or bigger.
They still selling the one you refer to , it just doesnt have the battery box and battery included.

But it costs a lot more than the Mecer LBKS models also called "Lobo" models.

Where can one buy the 12V 720W LBKS model with the battery trolley box with a 105Ah battery included for a good price (new - not used) - other than from MUSTEK directly. In Cape Town area.

Looking for one to help someone else that cant afford a bigger 24V system.

Think its the same as the Sako I am using. Have not seen any retail, well found 1 online shop: https://www.solarimports.co.za/

But 3 Electrical Wholesalers we deal with stock Sako.

As for ZTE I know they make them for Cell Towers so they probably use B grade for Home and A Grade for Business?
That's it, apparently they are normally for wholesalers, he was doing a big job down at the coast and the only way he could ship in the batteries for the client was to get a shipping container, so he took all of them.

I am quite new to this forum. Have a Mecer Pure Sine wave inverter plus two 100Ah AGM batteries (24V) 3000VA. Lately, this setup only lasts for about 01:30 of load-shedding, in the past, it lasted for up to 5 hours.

I bought it from Geewiz, batteries are still in the guarantee period. Geewiz said I should take the batteries to Mustek for testing and/or replacement.

Mustek told me 3 working days to get an answer after delivery of the batteries to them. Is this par for the course? Any suggestions or advice, please.

soudns about right, they just going tell you over used batteries and not replace it probably. Hardly any supplier replaces deep cycle batteries.

Sadly this sounds more likely it's the batteries and you're just going to get the eh for them.
As 24x100 gives you 2400wh, which you'll need to divide in half for optimal battery lifespan on lead acids, not sure on your load though.

Sadly this :-( tried to return batteries in warranty period, just get the same old story.

Ya same problem now client, i really thought going replace his plasma tv, but now 7 month later 200ah not keeping up. Will have to replace out of pocket and told him you need replace tv or your batteries will just die.

Thanks for the replies from all. Sounds to me like I should just buy new batteries?

Any suggestions as to where and what type? The supplied batteries look like a no-name brand.

Mustek supplies Vision AGM normally they pretty good.

I would recommend reducing the load and then replacing the batteries, or keep the current load and go 2x100ah lithuim batteries.

The heavy load shedding lately has tanked a lot of batteries - I've had to replace some also. Not just inverter batteries but gate motors, alarms etc...are all taking a hiding. All adds up to extra expense.

If you can try going the lithium route with the Hubble S120s if you can afford to. OR another brand that is a direct replacement for LA, without having to mod the inverter charger.

Maybe BLueNova also has something similar to the S120? Have not asked them yet.

3 days turn around time from MUSTEK tech lab sounds normal.

Warranty only cover manufacture defects not usage. If any sulfation found they gonna say "Sorry you lose".

Hubble s120 is the only affordable drop in lead replacement, the others are all very expensive, Blue Nova 108Ah is over R8k, same with Freedom Won, Revov and other less known brands.

Thanks Gtx, the load is pretty low (I think), about 300 watts. This has been the same load since I bought the unit.

I had it wired into the DB with a manual change-over switch. The circuits selected were done so as to limit the load, only 18 months of service from the batteries, I thought it would be longer!

Did you montior to see if goes below 50%? Once they start going below 50% its just does not last long anymore.

But i think you probably drained till the inverter starts beeping :(

The strange thing is that the batteries are recharging very quickly after a power outage, less than an hour. As soon as the charge cycle starts the inverter indicates that the batteries are almost full, i.e. 2 bars or more. The load indicator has never been more than 25% during operation.

I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy new batteries! o_O

Got another 2 LA batteries dead as door nails :-(

But Lead Acids are more readily available and replaceable.

And less costly.

Who knows how battery development looks in a year or two.

A few reasons I am still considering a small setup with a single lead acid.

Nah I've started the journey away from those disposable batteries

That is debateable

2 or 3 sets of LA's and you bought 1 set of LFP that would last a crap load longer

200-300 cycles vs 2000-3000

Cheese and chalk

Also since I gone LFP I dont look at % I just use.
