Hi guys,

I have a question regarding Metrofibre. I'm currently residing in the Effingham - Kenville area in Durban and deciding on cancelling my LTE contract with Telkom in favour of taking a MetroFibre plan with them (MetroFibre is only Fibre option available in my area).

Can anyone give me any insight on if it's a good move?
From the online reviews I read about MetroFibre...They aren't the most encouraging. And because I'd be taking the plan through Telkom, would my chances of better service etc. be more likely?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Nothing wrong with Telkom as an ISP, but support might not be great. If you go with Afrihost/Cool Ideas/WebSquad or any of the other ISPs touted here, you get the bonus of having much better support.

I'm sure any of these guys would help you get on onboard with better support than Telkom could dream to offer @AfriNatic @PBCool @websquadza

Yeah, thing is though, I have an LTE contract with them, and i'll need to order this Fibre option and cancel the old one without penalties.
I've been with Telkom for a while, they're hit and miss but...5/10 at best.
But my worry is more with the Fibre plan - MetroFibre, How reliable is that Fibre option.

Also Thanks for the feedback bud:)

I live in JHB, Fourways area. The MFN build is stable, have had a few outages but can't complain about line stability and packet loss.
Thanks for the Feedback Devin.
Just to clarify, so you're with metrofibre and have taken the package through Telkom?

I'm with MFN Direct at home but my tenant uses MWEB through them and cannot complain either.

I know someone in PE/Qgberha, he says that MFN's routing takes all traffic via Durban to JHB which gives him around 40-50 ping which is unfortunate albeit the line is stable and he hasn't had much downtime.
