Microsoft is upgrading the Windows command line

Microsoft is improving the Windows command-line environment, according to a report by Ars Technica.

The report stated that Microsoft previously upgraded the Windows console for users, and more work is set to be done by the company.

Yes, copying again, because that's all you ever did...
No innovation, let's just copy Apple and Linux

Lol the command prompt predates Linux by a very long time

I am not referring to the command line as a feature.. I am referring to the fact that MS is trying to make it the same as the bash shell in any *nix type of OS. That's not innovation at all.. thats like coming to the party as the cleaners are packing up the chairs and washing the floors.

How is your slow, overpriced OS running today? Did you have to remove any malware?

It's running pretty well thanks. Nice and fast.
I think I last had remove malware in 2004...

It is also more stable at the moment than any flavour of *nix I've ever tried.

If the windows command line matches that of nix, Windows will be better than nix in every practical way. Hell, with Powershell being object based it is already better than bash in some ways.

As for overpriced, Linux is only free if your time has no value.

They don't just blindly copy years down the line... the point I am making to you Microsoft fans is that M$ is hardly what you'd call an innovative software company

Yeah... you should re-evaluate that opinion since its pretty much totally wrong.. but anyway.

All tech companies copy....

How's this copying others? Remember DOS? Microsoft was an command line OS before Linux was even born. Windows evolved from DOS.

They're actually just back tracking, like they did with their logo

1. Remember CP/M from DR? :)
2. Actually Linux-alike OS was born before MS DOS. It is called Unix.

Here we go again. Before a decent discussion can be held around the content of the article, the MS haters move in, talk loads of BS based on their unbelievable lack of understanding of the history of computer software development.

Give up guys, we will never get these self educated IT barbarians to acknowledge when MS does anything of value .......
