Microsoft to Kill Pirated Windows XP Professional

I have a bandwidth meter running, i can see if it does stuff it's not supposed to.

When zombie bots see our upload speeds, they just move along and lol.....

LOL... ja... here in South Africa we wish we could afford Zombie bots :(

WGA fix.....
Its detects Legal.

Can download Win11, anything....

ftw

Logo testing just repaired......

EDIT: Sorry it was a format JOb... Just was restoring..

who updates anyway? it just munches bandwidth.

can anyone tell me of 1 extra feature you noticed, 1 glitch removed?

just upgrade your OS to the latest SP when it gets released, you don't need big updates.

+1 My Win XP only ever got updated with an SP

If you ask me, these anti-pirate methods are completely idiotic. I mean, ANY software program and ANY version of windows have all been cracked...
So as far as I see it, pirates will always find a crack to the software, so it definately is not keeping them away.
And the end-user, they just have tons more effort now to ensure they activate their legit software.

It doesn't stop the pirate and it inconveniences the end user, so what is the point???

I update, using the wga fix crack version. I am up to-date.
I pass the test

LOL: THE logo testing of some programs warns you but I always bypass it

Without WGA you can't DL updates which means you may be part of a botnet contributing to the spam, phishing, child pr0n and even DDOS problems of the world.

Now if Windoze wasn't defective by design we could say it wouldn't need updates and pirates wouldn't matter OR if MS would allow pirates the updates that would work too, but unless I'm mistaken if the WGA flags you as having a non-genuine Windoze then you can't update.

windows is not any more defective than linux or mac, should either of those gets 50% market share i am sure these hackers/crackers will turn their attention to finding faults, for now mac and linux stay in the shadow and away from attackers if you ask me.

I wonder though why microsoft even care about xp anymore? why not make windows 7 as good as they can and price it well so that people do not turn to piracy?

Maybe because more times than not piracy has nothing to do with the price. Even if Win 7 ultimate came in at R399 there would still be pirates for whatever reason. People pirate games you can buy for R199 so price is not always the issue.

IMO, if people are pirating because of the price, they should rather use Linux and try and force MS to drop the prices.

A game lasts what 15-30 hours if your lucky?

Price is an issue, i bought vista home edition and am running vista ultimate. Why you may ask and it is because i have bought vista i do not see why i need to pay 3 x as much for the same thing. Home edition would not run corel draw yet the ultimate edition ran it fine.

they must price windows 7 like they did xp pro and home. I am sure vista ultimate must be the most pirated windows of all time.

I would say price is the BIG issue... I'm really not gonna pay R2000 (I think it's around there) for Vista... Don't even know if that is the X64 edt..?..

If it was something that I could actually afford like R300 I would buy it TODAY (It's payday :-) )

For games... Well it's also about the price for me. Really R300/R400 per game... And it might be just a sht game. Demo's doesn't really give you ALL THAT. They take a small portion of a cool section of the game and that's it.

Like Assassin's creed. Not a bad game but really not worth the money for me. And there was so much fuzzzz bout it.. I would say if the prices really dropped then I would start to actually buy stuff... But A.T.M. it's really just so much cheaper... Yea maybe not the right thing to do but I don't earn that much per year and with everything getting more and more expensive it's even harder.

But that's my opinion... Maybe I just use these excuses.... But that's how I feel.

ps: Wasn't there a gaming company that would actually drop their prices to see if more people will buy the originals? Kinda testing the waters??

No i fully agree dude, not many games are worth the money and microsoft's pricing on vista was shocking with so many flavours.

I bought my windows xp home as did many people i know but those same people refused to pay the amount for vista ultimate and turned to piracy.

So shock i know for sure microsoft are shooting themsevles in the foot.

I wonder if microsoft sold windows for 10 dollars how many people would rather pay than pirate and i wonder if they would make more money.

I do not think nearly as many would pirate a 50 dollar windows and lets be honest how much does it actually cost microsoft to produce the cd and cd key? next to nothing.

think about windows 7, it did not cost billions like vista as the platform was already there and all they have done is tweak vista.

People would pay for more than they are now if Windows cost less. Research and development costs Microsoft billions, you must remember saying Windows 7 did not cost MS as much as Vista, well unless we have the actual financial figures we cannot say that.

The platform of Windows 7 is highly tweaked over Vista's, it is different from Vista not entirely but some fundamental aspects are. Now they have to reprint the manuals, packaging, update the MCITP program etc. Windows 7 is not just a tweaked Vista, many and some fast impovements. Saying Windows 7 is a tweaked Vista is like saying XP was just a tweak over 2000.

*Slight rant over*

It is a tweaked vista, it looks and works the same in my opinion but it has a few new features and runs 4x faster :p

They have the platform which is vista, now they have tweaked the kuk out of vista and made windows 7.

The nice thing about windows 7 is it makes use of vista drivers so you have no driver isssue's or very few that i know of.

Saying windows 7 is way different to vista is pushing it alot as windows 7 works and looks almost identically to vista.

Few changes like speed and putting 2 windows together and what not but the heart of windows 7 is vista that is super fast.

I love windows 7 and if it is priced within my 1.2k budget for the full package i will pay for it, should it cost 2.5k again i will pirate it.

The question is whether a 50% drop in the price of Windows 7 will result in 50% more sales? In 2002 windows XP had 94% market share with 120 million OS products shipped. Will enough people, 120 Million more, buy the software if it were cheaper; I don't know....
