Mobile data bundle: SA price comparison

These guys are making a killing with those prices!

Might look at including them in a future comparison that looks at mobile data prices in general, but their offerings are pretty different from ad-hoc bundles, no?
 
Where is CellC's 3GB for R299? It lasts for 12 months and has no fixed monthly allocation. I've been buying that bundle and nothing else for the last 3 years or so. It destroys all the other bundles here.
 
There's a data price war going on in the States apparently, T Mobile be is shaking things up they say.
 
You know, MTN might be my next provider. Never used them before, have always used Vodacom and then Cell C. Cell C is beyond terrible and MTN has the best data network with decent prices. Amazing!

EDIT:

The 1-2GB table doesn't look right. MTN's 1GB costs R149, and has an in bundle rate of 7c per MB. Cell C's 2GB costs R245, and the in bundle rate is 12c per MB.

If you bought two of the MTN 1GB products, you would spend R298. So it would cost you R298 to buy 2GB from MTN, whereas it costs you R245 on Cell C. How then is MTN cheaper per MB?

Oh, they are counting it as a 2GB bundle because of the special.

Speaking from experience, the trade-off to to MTN's current great set of services (Data Giveback, Data Share) is a poor website and app.

I haven't actually used their LTE network on a day-to-day basis, but I have heard complaints about calls not coming through to phones that are on LTE. This may have been fixed, but I've not heard anything further from MTN after I asked them about the issue some months ago.

So not perfect, but no SA operator is.

Where do you get this?I tried buying it for my wife at game and they don't know what I'm talking about,also I cant find it on any USSD menu...can you please share specifics of how you are buying this?

Best place to get this is in the form of a voucher from any CellC shop.
