Mobile device war in SA

I am glad Windows Phone is growing. Hope the apps on Windows Phone will grow too :)

Interesting numbers. Rapid growth in the Android platform however I do question if these are "smart devices" or basic entry level mobile devices. I think its important not to confuse high-end devices with basic devices that run on the Android/Blackberry platform.

Why the need to differentiate?
A cheap R600 to R1000 Android smartphone (Gobii, Smart Kicka, Steppa, etc.) can do pretty much everything a R10000 Android smart phone can do, albeit a bit slower.

Cheap R600 smartphone does not run all games that a R10000 smartphone can.

Okay, some 3D intensive games will not work on entry level smart phones.
I personally don't know of people using their phones for high-end gaming and the ones who do play games usually pick the simple ones which run on entry level hardware so I don't think any differentiation is needed.

I still don't agree. Angry Birds Star Wars 2 is a simple game, but does not work on a simple phone. (well at least not on my kids Fondi tablet)
