More Free ADSL data from Telkom?

Where's gdiza and his "don't cancel your Telkom ISP account yet, something is coming sooon" thing?

Only way Telkom is gonna get a move on is when people move away from them.

And what is with the more "FREE" data heading? Telkom does not give ANY free data ? You pay like DOUBLE the market price per GB at Telkom.

I do think the idea of higher usage limits is clever... as not every 1 wants uncapped, or are prepared to pay for it. IF the pricing is right these accounts could attract allot of people between the 3 gig and uncapped usage gaps..

btw whats free?? or are they just increasing the caps
LOL just hope it's not local cap they increasing.. :D i think that would be fail

Hey increasing both local and international caps would be a plus. Lets hope for split billing while we at it. Maybe telkom might give us something we want.

Upgrading the capped accounts to bigger caps for the same price would make telkom extremely attractive ISP. Best we can do is wait and see... June 1, not that far away if they were talking about this year.

The reality:

Telkom has to stay in a market where Uncapped has become a norm.

Telkom has to stay in a market where the need of cost effective fixed IP's are indicated by people such as Openweb.

Telkom will offer uncapped - but at a premium rate.

Telkom will most probably offer "Full service resale packages" allowing ISP's to even provide te telephone line rental - why should Telkom carry the credit risk is others will do so?

Uncapped is currently a niche market - less than 5% of all current ADSL users want uncapped.... so why should they offer uncapped right now, when they make their money from the ISP's who offer uncapped anyway?

/this could change depending on user demand!

<sigh> If telkom have any sense ( and they probably don't ) they should the local and international capps together for each package . the 1 gig also comes with 10 local that will = 10 gigs. 2 gig account = 20 gigs 5 gig account = 35 gig.

We need speed bumps on the lines, not more data. What sense is there to increase cap when we are on slow DSL speeds--you can only move so much data per second. Ignoramus Telkom!

10GB International plus 50GB Local... thats all I need... any more than that is just unnecessary... oh... and it has to split the traffic automatically :D

If Telkom can give me say 15GB plus uncapped local or 200GB local, with the ability to have both connections running at the same time, I'll come back to them. Anything less, Mweb will still be getting my money.
