Wtf, how can they have the ability or right to do that during a contract?
Wtf, how can they have the ability or right to do that during a contract?
And why would they care to make it one hour less, 5-6am is hardly network rush hour?
I suspect it's because a lot of people wake up early and use their night data (e.g. YouTube in the morning before work) and thus MTN decided to move it an hour earlier. Crap move indeed.Wtf, how can they have the ability or right to do that during a contract?

Yeah I got it.

Just checked if its maybe available on Apple, unfortunately notIf anyone is interested in wasting their allocated night data, I will add a few simple steps that can help
Step 1: Download an app called Flud on Goolge App store (not sure about apple)
Step 2: Open app and configure scheduler to download between 12:01 and whatever end time you wish
Step 3: Find a torrent of a large file. I find a full season of a series the best fit for the purpose, just for the size
Step 4: Add torrent to Flud app
Step 5: Wait until download has completed
Step 6: Delete the downloaded series and watch it on Netflix or your preferred paid streaming service
Step 7: (Optional) Laugh at MTN
Hope this guide helps
I tested it and managed to do about 14gigs last night.
I ran out of space on my phone, I'll just delete and add the same downloads again tonight

Is anyone having billing issues with their BF promo contracts or the retentions deals?
I took a retention deal at R299, 50GB data, 650minutes, 200 SMS. Which they upped R309/mo at some point, "inflation".
Then in December, they added a R250 charge to the account. So the debit order totalled R509. I queried, but there was no resolution even after getting multiple SMS saying the query has been resolved. No credit was passed.
Then the bill dropped to R259 in Jan and again in Feb. Now the bill for March is at R359!![]()

Aah, that's interesting. Yes I have that same billing amounts displayed.I'm seeing the same thing, but I think I read somewhere in this thread that the amount "current running bill" does not include the R100 discount.
Maybe just check in a few weeks and see what actually leaves your account.

And yes, they have been debiting R259, except in December when it was R509 (the R250 extra which they cannot explain).

Have you checked to see what they actually billed you in December?

Thanks. The missing December figure is strange. MTN's billing systems are a mess by the looks of it.I cant seem to find that transaction history page that you showed.
But I went throught the invoice pages and a previous bill overview and it for Dec 2019 nothing shows
Dec is just missing. If I filter to Dec only it says no data available
...
The only thing I see different that happened in Dec 2019 is that the "Promo service fee" fell away

I used https://mycontract.mtn.co.za/ and then the "View my statements icon" on the top left to get to this summary.
