MTN Black Friday Discussions

What would be the cheapest package to change to to not lose any accumulated minutes? I'm not worried about the MTN minutes, I'm thinking the standard ones

This is becoming ridiculous - I am not waiting any longer for MTN to show that they care about keeping me as a possible future high-spend customer.

My MTN cell number has become my main number and I cannot loose it (i.e. prepaid is not 100% safe), I will therefore visit my nearest MTN store one month and one day before my current contract expires and change to the My MTNChoice Flexi R55 TopUp for R39 per month

Am I right in saying that is we signed up on black Friday we should receive one more allocation of data? Or are we in the last month now?

Years ago when I moved to prepaid from my mtn contract, i think they converted the accumalated minutes/airtime to the prepaid sim. not sure if this will still apply.

I just called 808 to migrate to prepaid.

They told me if I/we cancel now, then we'll have to pay an early termination fee of R390.

Apparently "the discount your contract currently enjoys is not applicable when the system works out the fee, so it's based on the non-discounted rate".
I made it clear that there's no device included, so why any termination fee at all... but the lady was adamant that this is the only option should I want to cancel earlier (which I explained was to get the new BFriday deal - not as if I'm planning to leave MTN - but no joy.)

Tempted to let it run its course and move to Telkom or Cellc (Roaming on MTN).

I've never had any issue with convertering a contract to prepaid?

Apparently because the contract will be up for renewal you will be able to take up a new BF Mtn contract if a good one comes up.

Seems to be implying they may be offering something special for the 50Gb guys to upgrade to or is it just going to be some shtty std contract they offer as an "upgrade"?

Lol, we all got sent the same sms at the same time, mmmmm I wonder if it'll be something decent.

Got the same sms. Wonder if it will be compulsory to get a phone - hence push the subscription up

I wonder if that's just bait to make people sign a 24 month earlier than BF. And on the day they come out with a better deal :/
