MTN Black Friday Discussions

MTN is running a similar deal tomorrow with Device's only, as far as I understand you can't take it on a sim only deal. IMG-20170112-WA0007.jpg

I'm still waiting to see what sucker punch MTN pull on this too good to be true offer. Not hating, just curious.

What are the chances of taking a MIFI on one of these deals with an appropriately higher R per month?

I doubt Mtn will pull a sucker punch. This deal is gaining a lot of market share for Mtn. Plus Mtn has 95% coverage. Add to that the cell c price increase, cell c is losing subscribers like mad. Mtn's financials are going to be looking excellent at their year end.

Looks like extracting the Zando vouchers will not be easy, in store or call center are clueless as to how to go about getting them. I enabled marketing but that didn't help, just got a flood of marketing sms :(

Can anyone confirm they received the Zando sms with marketing switched off on their accounts?

It shouldn't be difficult as it's printed in the catalogue.

Does anyone have itemised billing on this deal? Would u be willing to share the a picture of this? I just want to know how they portray calls and data

I think you right hey, the networks always play fair with folks on 24 month contracts.

Also, so many people have signed up for this they'll very quickly lose all the goodwill they've gained with this promo if they change it mid-way. There'll be one massive Twitter (and other) storm!

For those guys getting billed +-250...

It looks like mtn has increased their price on the website of both sim only deals. They are listed at 249 and 299. Previously they were 149 and 199.

This will suck if they changed prices in the first month of a contract without even letting customers know.

The website showed it like that when I took out the deal, yet all contract documentation stated R149pm

This deal is back today in case anybody missed out the last time

I have the old November deals book. It has the lower prices in there. Will check the latest deals book too.

So I notice they offer the LG G5 SE - which i believe is not an LTE phone.

However, the website shows it as an LTE phone - false advertising?

Anybody know if MTN offers any other phones apart from whats listed on the website?
