MTN Black Friday Discussions

Yeah good luck I emailed CS last month 22/09, got a response 24hrs saying its handed over to retentions. Then radio silence for 2 weeks, followed up told to escalate to management, nada. Hence I called.
I started emailing and spamming there Twitter account in July when they changed the upgrade dates.
Only received the early termination quotes in September.
Sms received with termination date of wife's number in November.
Suddenly I'm receiving calls from the inept retentions department with personalized offers they can fudge right off.

Useless company... end of... why take the time to track my usage patterns to offer me a package with 347% more data than I need but only 17% of the minutes I use.

These personalised upgrade offers will be available exclusively just for you until

Just noticed they have begun charging me a BF Promo service fee R48 ex Vat. Anyone else see this on their invoice?

Called the contact centre and they couldn't give me a straight answer neither could they reverse it. Escalated the call.

went to MTN store

apparently if you cancel now you get charged early cancellation

will call the call centre on the 01st as mine expires on the 23rd

And then dont forget about the R10/20 increase they slipped in a while back to. These companiesd are given too much leeway when it comes to contracts. Its seems the customers are the only ones that have to fulfill their contract obligations and providers can change and charge whatever they want.

Best black Friday deal would be a 1TB month-to-month. Wish their data was cheap since we average 140mbps in this house on mtn. Peak of 162...

But being locked into a contract for 2 years for LTE is a big hell no.

I'd sign a 24 month contract for 1TB per month at R99 in a heartbeat. Heck, I'd sign up for 48 months if I could.

R999 pm month-to-month for 1TB on mtn would be a good deal. People complain but I have only had around 100mbps+ on their network in Durban.

I just got a call about my Bf contract upgrade, unfortunately I put the phone down on the operator before I could get get all the details.

I'm on the 60gb + 60gb deal and they offered something called Home Extra R299 for 75gb anytime and 75gb night on 24 month contract. Is that a current MTN deal or something special?

It's not bad, if nothing else comes up on Bf I may pull the trigger, well as long as it supports datashare.

No nothing special, it's actually called made for home 75gb and R299pm is the price with no device and because it's a "home" brand contract probably has datashare disabled. Knts

How do you check if a contract supports datashare, as per usual their contract deal pages have pretty much zero T&C's?
