MTN Black Friday Discussions

On a side note, sat in the doctors room Park town north, did a speedtest, as one does when visiting new areas.

I see the deal expires 11/05/2025, I recall at the time the offer was only available over 18 months. I questioned them at the time and basically it was a "take it or leave it" response.

Question is, where to after it expires?

If they don't offer something similar one would be compelled to port or convert to prepaid and source something elsewhere until November 2025 offerings are launched...

goodluck with a deal outside of BF periods

Speed down from what I use to see. Maybe it's because it's peak time now.

Nice, looks like the speed I get at home on my Vodacom work sim. Those tests chows data though!
Yeah. Basically did 3 tests. Maybe 1gb per test? I got surplus data on this account. Never gets used up.

I'll check today's usage tomorrow.

I’d imagine to be legible for a BF promo upgrade after your contract expires you'd have to let it run at full price month-to-month till BF. You also normally lose the promo data after it expires

I am due for an upgrade in May. I've not received any offers. Has anyone else got any upgrade offers?

This is the Black Friday thread - better to seek answers elsewhere unless you're looking to upgrade in November/December.
We prefer to sleep in here for the rest of the year without receiving forum thread notifications :)

My 2023 BF upgrade for 36 months has been showing that my plan expires on 11/05/2025 and next upgrade is 12/03/2025. Which is 18 months. It is on the app, don't know about the website which was always an unbelievable piece of crap.

Yeah mate. I'm one of the original BF deal sign ups. Last BF they gave out a 18 month deal so here I am, due for an upgrade.
Just turn the notifications off and you can sleep away🙈

Same same.... no offers to date... going to get screwed, just know it. Think I'll port to Cell C and take a month to month and port back to MTN in November for BF deals...

Call cancellatiiins / retentions in April. They will give you a contract offer. They normally give you one only, but you can check if they have better deals like more data or minutes.

I called MTN retentions and was offered the following package:

250GB
70GB are shareable
R389 pm over 12 months

With my current package, I get 500GB pm with 200GB shareable data.

I will probably wait another month and see if they come up with better deals.
