MTN Data Share on 50gb pm Promo

Does anyone know if its possible to enable data share on the 50gb promo contract? Or has anyone managed to activate it and using data share on their promo contract?
 
Yes you can share 500mb or 2gb none promotion data. Can share full 50gb on a Mtn dual call sim, but only available for black Friday and cyber Monday deal holders.

If you put SIM into a router, you can. It is what I had been told by the shop attendant. I said to a friend with a similar question to move contract number to the prepaid card (and use it on the phone) and use contract SIM in the router.

That's not Data share MR Sir.
 
So one is able to hotspot the promotional data? MTN consultant told my SO that you will be charged if you hotspot
 
Guys,i spoke to mtn call centre twice today and they confirmed that data share is effective on all your data, so I again double checked if it would work with my 50gig data and they said yes. I am on the cyber Monday data and I do not have dual call
 
Ok, guys, data share is a a physical service that allows your sim card to transfer data to another sim card, ie another number. This is not possible on promo data.

Sticking the sim card in a router is not data sharing, merely "hotspotting" the sim via a router, This is possible with any type of data, including promo. i hope this clears up any confusion:)

They dont know u on a hotspot.. but they can pick up the device u using with the IMEI and pick up type of device using that..

with a hotspot, ur data is still routed through the main IP address your main device has acquired. your other devices get IP address assigned by your hotspot

Not on the 50gb promotional data. But every package comes with a monthly allotment of non promotional data, which qualifies for data share.

I have activated data share on my primary sim which has 50GB +2GB and linked the data share to a secondary sim in order to utilize the 2GB. Is it possible for me to view the data share balance (for the 2GB) on the secondary sim? On the primary sim, which bundle would be used first, 50GB or 2GB?

The 50gb gets used first.

Not sure about checking the available balance on a secondary sim. Haven't tried. Maybe someone else can clarify?

The primary sim uses the 50gb first, I would imagine the primary sim is the only number that can view the data balance of the 2gb that is being shared, it's shown separately in the Mtn web portal.
