MTN UNCAPPED LITE SPEED

Hi all,

Please can someone tell me how the heck i can improve my download speeds. Got the uncapped package with Huawei E367 modem last week and im only getting d/l speeds of 0.45mbs

With the uncapped lite package, your downloads will be throttled to 256kbps (0.25mbps) after you reach the fair use limit of 3GB. If you're still getting 0.45mbps, then either you haven't hit the fair use limit yet, or you should consider yourself really lucky as you're getting double the speed you supposed to.

Did you know about this fair use limit when signing up? It's in the fine print, and in all their promotional material, as well as on the MTN website. The sales rep who sold you the package should have informed you about it as well.

If you haven't hit your 3GB limit yet, then you might have a problem with reception in your area, or the base station you are connecting to might be overloaded. Also, if you're using an older modem (3G instead of HSPA / HSPA+), then you'll get slower speeds.

Lastly, how do you know you are getting 0.4mbps? How did you get this figure?
