Well actually the ASA ruled that this type of thing is uncapped, as you don't have a cap although your speed is slower. The price is still to high for me. If it was R500 instead of R749 then I might have had a peek.

It is uncapped but throttled. It connects at a much slower speed but you are still connected and can download to your heart's content, even if it takes a month or two to download a movie. The package is not aimed at people trying to break some download record. I do agree it is not perfect but it is a start.

As for why they throttle it, have a look here, here and especially here.

And before somebody else brings it up, yes I do work for one of MTN's business units.

Must agree , rather buy 3GB data for R549 or something similar. These guys must think we are idiots , imagine paying more for data !!uncap with FUP @ 3GB is absurd , maybe 30GB ? but even then you cannot say the word uncap , ISP are misleading with their uncap offerings , 128k is not broadband , dam 384k is not broadband.
