Mweb 4 mbps shaped p2p speeds

Same problem

Is Seacom down or mweb still prioritizing p2p at the lowest, the entire day today I've been uploading more then downloading, iv'e tried several torrents and all have about a total of 12-13 KB/s downloading yet my uploading is perfect i'v throttled uploading to 25 KB/s, and i'm on a 4 Mb/s MWEB Uncapped shaped line, why is it slow and does anyone have the same issue

I have no issues with mweb 4meg uncapped. Get an average of 25GB per day downloading from filesonic.

think shaped, http shaping don't stack you can have 4 http threads and max your line, with premium filesonic account you can have more then 1 thread at a time.

I'm also having serious speed problems on MWeb 4mb, since around Saturday. I thought it was the Seacom disaster, but although the cable is up i'm still not getting above a max of 90kbps (and around 10kbps during the day), compared with a consistent (night-time) 300kbps before Saturday (and around 25kbps during the day). At times my speeds are so low, I can't even open speedtest.net. What's going on?

Same here and I keep losing access to the Mweb home page, other sites fine although sometimes a bit slow!

Good Morning

mmshrinker are you only experiencing problems with p2p?

TonyA, do you experience slow browsing with no torrents running?

Please keep the thread on topic. If you have a complaint, do it on the correct thread. Don't derail this one because you are too lazy to look for the correct one. I am interested in reading feedback from current mweb users on 4mbps shaped accounts as I am sure are the majority of people clicking the link to this thread.

MwebGuy: The problem today is not just p2p, I'm getting almost non-existent speeds on international right now (Seacom again?) and also can't access my mail. Very slow even on local - Can't even open gam.co.za to check my speed, and of course can't open speedtest.net.
Spyker: I'm not sure who your crit is directed at - I am on shaped 4mb uncapped mweb, and this is my problem, which has been ongoing since the weekend.

Not a crit. Asking that people stay on topic. The topic is someone asking for feedback regarding p2p speeds on the mweb shaped 4mbps account. This isn't a thread for complaints. Do that on the official mweb uncapped thread.

Tis all

Hi there

I have not been able to find an answer to this question after numerous searches... So please don't bite my head off if this is a repeat question...

I just would like to know from current mweb 4 mbps uncapped shaped subscribers about the current speeds they are getting during peak hours for torrents, news networks etc. I am not a heavy downloader but I am considering this option but obviously don't want to get 3 kb/s out of a possible 400 kb/s. I would be happy with around 50 - 60 if that is possible.

So feedback on the above would be appreciated as I have learnt from threads that Mweb heavily shapes this type of traffic.

See... ^^^^

get the ky jelly, bend over, touch your ankles and get ready to take mweb up you a$$. 25GB a day, you will hear from them soon. they have spies on these forums

MWEB Guy, other slow sites are DSTV.com. My prime concern is that I constantly lose access to the MWEB home page, it looks like DNS or whatever does not refresh, have to reboot router, although can always acees other sites such as MyBB, M&G etc.

Thanks

lol

at 25 Gig a day you are pretty much downloading at full speed all the time. Either this person is on an unshaped package or they are circumventing shaping.. then mweb will get you
