Keeper, ISPs don't love you "heavy" users, they tolerate you. Some days the tolerance wears a bit thin and they tell one of you to leave, and you go to the next ISP who does the same thing. Some have thicker skins than others, some have less abuse and can absorb yours better but the end of the day that is all it is - abuse.
Openweb won't do that to me, because they do not monitor their users internet usage.
If you pay for a 1Mbs unlimited account, that is what you are supposed to get - 1Mbs of unlimited usage.
ISPs that tell you to "stop" after downloading a certain amount of data, is NOT uncapped.
ISPs that throttle you, is NOT giving you the 1Mbs you paid for. It doesn't matter if you download 10GBs of email, or HHTP, or NNTP or P2P, or VOIP - data is data.
In fact, ISPs that give you good HHTP but no P2P, is not giving you the internet you paid for.
What business of them is it to tell YOU what ways you should use to download... data is data is data.
You guys can defend MWeb as much as you want, but if they throttle you, you are not getting the 1MBs you paid for. If you are told to stop, it's not Uncapped.
I'm fighting for net neutrality - if you're happy with your ISP throttling you with their fake uncapped, hey, go nuts.... I for one think it's BS what you guys are going through.
