Its not google mail, Its all the other business ports. I have 8 branches trying to connect to my head office using open vpn so they can get there mail off the exchange server, RDP so that they can do invoicing, ftp of shared documents, and our intranet.

Hence we have a problem, its only local stuff, why are the ports block localy

Teamspeak to the local saix dogaming teamspeak server is also now down. I also cannot play Bad Company 2 on the local saix game servers, which requires 99% local traffic.

Thanks a lot mweb. In order to restore international web/email access for people, you've cut off our local access to non web/email. Great job. Really outstanding. Not!

MWEB, Please unblock FTP access to Hetzner.
We have mission critical updates that need to be uploaded and we are currently blocked from doing this.

Get a prepaid Axxess saix account for R119.00/GB. That would save your critical mission. At least call them.

Are MWeb blocking inbound ports?
I cannot SSH into my PC at home. I even tried mapping SSH to SMTP (25) but I still can't connect.

Port 80 is blocked by default, but that can be changed on their site in your control panel. Others work for me.

Is the machine on (no power failure)? Is sshd running on the correct port? Is the machine able to establish outgoing connections? Is the router turned on (maid knocked the plug out)? Is the router able to make outgoing connections? Is the IP address or dynamic address you are using correct?

Depends what port you are trying to SSH in on. Port 80, for example, would be a very bad idea :)

If you changed to port 25, how did you change the daemon to listen on port 25 if you can't get access to the machine? Port 25 will work outgoing of course, but I don't know if it is one of the "blocked" incoming ports if you have enabled "ADSL security" on your account. This blocks port 80 incoming, amongst others I think.

WHY would MWeb suddenly and silently start blocking arbitrary ports?

Pathetic port blocking by mweb, absolutely pathetic... RDP and SSH are heavily work and business related and they feel the need to block it to help b/w issues? I know why dont you just stop ALL uncapped people downloading and leave essential services running like at least RDP and SSH.

Ive asked every one of my clients using mweb unshaped uncapped (business account, they are even shaping those which cost thousands of rands) to cancel with immediate effect. They will go somewhere else.

Free the web my ass - you just brought it to its knees.

I am curious to all the covert replies to get stuff working?
Why is it always PM me and I will tell you.
Why can you not post in public?
