wifi calling still working for me on mweb
Dont want to risk it lolRestart your ONT and Router , report back if it's still working
MWeb is actually correct here. The problem isn't MWeb blocking VoWiFi, the problem is MTN choosing to whitelist certain networks and/or IP ranges that can use VoWiFi and blocking everything else.Mine worked perfectly fine all day at the office over Afrihost Fibre. For me it’s just MWeb and they’re insisting they don’t block WiFi calling protocols or anything of the sort.
Not going to even bother calling MTN to try troubleshooting, their contact centre is absolutely clueless! Lol
It’s not MWeb It’s the stupids at MtnI have 2 MTN numbers , neither will connect via VoWiFi to MTN ( no network displayed while on flight mode on my iPhone ) , my Vodacom number works without any issues
I tested the same 2 numbers on a friends Wifi network, Telkom , both numbers instantly displayed the - WiFi logo and could make and receive calls via VoWifi.
Anyone else here with a similar experience or suggestion other than moving to a different ISP
VoWi-Fi with Vodacom working on Afrihost and Seacom. If it helps since I see people saying to move MNOs and ISPs.
VoWiFi on Vodacom works with WebAfrica.
Would love to see that happen as well.
Well Telkom is pretty useless
So according to Telkom. VoWiFi is not supported on Fruit phones (yet)Works for me 100% - S22
I was just recently overseas in the EU and I can confirm that MTN wifi-calling does NOT work when using wifi outside South Africa. Not a surprise really.
Sorry for the late response. Please could you share the details / settings on a Samsung phone running the lastest version of OneUI how to setup hosting one sim over the second data sim for wifi calling.
I tried looking for the setting to do this on a Galaxy A53 5G, but can't seem to find it.
Thank you
It’s because MTN are a bunch of greedy boys. Vodacom has roaming agreements with many countries now. I usually use a prepaid Vodacom eSim when I travel, R99 a GB. Other packages are 350 for 5Gb data, alternatively 550 for 5Gb and 200 minutes.I was just recently overseas in the EU and I can confirm that MTN wifi-calling does NOT work when using wifi outside South Africa. Not even worth the trouble of using those apps or Airalo? eSim etc, rate is similar and this roams straight on that countries local networks.
If I’m correct the other ‘ world sims ‘ use virtual networks so data speed etc is not as fast as being on the actual network itself, and not all of them can do voice either.
So basically it’s a set of prepaid roaming bundles with no bill shocks, surprised Vodacom actually has such a product comparing to their past habit of ripping us a new one lol!
Works fine for me when I'm abroad, using it now actually
