Have you switched off your router for a couple of minutes? Restarted the router? According to MWEB's mail you should go on to SAIX then...I am not at home yet so don't know...

That was the case, and worked... until this notice from MWEB.

Yeah, without fail every thread on a SEACOM outage "degenerates" into the MWeb/SEACOM blame-game. I want what I paid for. There is not enough capacity. You're such a sucker for chosing MWeb, etc. Sigh. People have nothing else to do online I guess. It's funny because it's pathetic.
 
This is uncool because I made a nice list of torrent downloads when I left home on the 4th :(

I wonder if my downloads will continue once the cable is fixed without rebooting the router... lol

Oh well. 384kbps more for someone else I guess.
 
Hi there MWEB--I have just come home from work--have 384K line and with MWEB uncapped--I see I can't access international sites including Gmail--local is flying though--any way to access google gmail on local sites?
 
I really would like for more details on the repair of the SEACOM cable. Where did it break? How will it be fixed? Why not send a sea-cam down and get footage of the SEACOM break, similar to what was done with the BP oil spill. What will we see? Two cable-ends with frayed fibre-optic innnards twinkling away?

Do a National Geographic special.

I'm actually being serious.

change your login. Remove the "dsl" part.

Good idea. I'd like to see why it breaks so much. Did they use the proper spec cable?

Search around here on the forums -- the original notice was posted somewhere. It's a break in repeater (?) number 9 between Mombasa and Mumbai. A ship is on the way to haul the cable off the ocean floor and repair it.
