Hey everyone recently (September 2014) My line started acting up from the usual 3.5mbps download, 0.4 upload and ping of 12ms to a download of 1.7mbps, upload unchanged at 0.4mbps and a ping of 100ms. The fault has been logged with Mweb (my ISP) and Telkom for 2 weeks now and they have run me through every solution. It is not my router (I tested on multiple), Not my cabling. I used the Telkom guest account and my connection was perfect with 12ms and 3.5mbps download which would give you the idea that it is my account acting up but than they gave me a different account that apparently runs though FNB and my line was still bad.

So that tells us that the guest account only worked because it did not allow any other traffic other than the telkom www.saix.net webpage... I have tested my line on multiple devices, iPhone, 2 computers, iPad ext. I have tried them on Wifi and Cat5 and had all of them disconnect at the same time except for one and still the bad connection persists.
That aswell tells us that not one of the devices is somehow stealing bandwidth or downloading something in the background to cause problems.
Also... When i have had problems in the past the ping is always jumping from 100s to 600s, its just all over the place but in this fault the ping is locked on 100ms exactly. My account is not throttled and never has been.
Any ideas ?

Good Day Nervo,

Sounds like you are having an unpleasant experience.

There is one more thing we can do, enable monitoring on your account to establish if there is any traffic running on your network.

Please inbox me if you would like me to assist you with this.

Mweb just recently enabled monitoring on my account but have not phoned me back with any information regarding it...

Mweb just recently enabled monitoring

Who logged the request for you? Turn around for something like this is generally 48 hours or so, but that can also take a bit longer if our Abuse team have to collate more data for activity on your network.

Mind inboxing me so I can chase it up internally for you please?
