you are aware that i actually linked my usage from my account? if you read my post fully you would understand, considering the amount i downloaded it would end the month just above 300gb which by my standards is not bad at all considering i reinstalled my entire steam library and downloaded all my apps again.

but if your shaping policy is really that pathetic, you guys are going to lose so many customers, it also makes me wonder why im paying for "premium" account when its just as bad as the cheaper account.

also im aware the throttling is based on 30 days, i was using afrihost as an example. but its good to know you guys will be throttling me the rest of the month.

Hi nakedhousee

Please provide me with your MWEB account details and I'll let you know more or less when the speed limit will be lifted.

Posted elsewhere, please bear in mind that I'm not throttled according to my account..
Does anyone have any news with regards to why the mweb speed went down something horrible?
I tried doing a speedtest to their own servers - in jhb seeing as that is w10h10e10r10e10 I live - I got a ping of over 370ms and the downlaod part of the test failed. Multiple times.

Finally went to MTN server in JHB and the results as per below - this is for a 1meg line. I'm getting a tenth of the advertised speed..

Just migrate guys, these rolling window packages are garbage and Mweb who once aimed to "Free the web" has become the worst offender.

Of course, they will learn, but only when it's too late. I've seen Sentech, Iburst, Digichilli all burn from policies like this, hell, I'm even quoted on half of the mybb articles about abuse for those companies! Don't take that as bragging by any means though, I've simply seen this happen several times before and there is no happy ending.

Get out, move to someone who strictly says they will not throttle (as Mweb USED TO) and enjoy proper internet access.

No hate for Mwebguy though, doing your best to act like your company isn't dicking over its users is all part of the job.

LOL - the balance of this month, and the notice month .... or if cash isn't an issue, sign up with another ISP online and you could be unthrottled very quickly.....

Morning FrankyF

Depending on the package you have, it could vary. I could check for you and provide you with an approximate time period the system is reflecting.

Basically, once speed limited, the less you use, the sooner the limiting will be lifted.

Hi GhostSixFour

As soon as I get your MWEB account info, I'll investigate further for you.

Don't ask for nonsense since its not account specific. My speed was affected too, as in it was almost unusable, yesterday (especially international but also local) and the evening before that.

If you don't know there was a major issue somewhere then you system is bad. I don't know how it is now because I was using my 8ta stick since then.

I was on the phone to MWEB yesterday since we use an account at work and I was told "24 to 48 hours" I was also given two slightly vague different numbers as to what we'd be throttled to.

Really, for an Information Service Provider, they really suck at giving out information...

Hi supersunbird

Test your account and let me know if you are still experiencing this.

Then also send me a PM with your MWEB details.

What is the problem today? I have been unable to connect to my news provider since 3AM this morning. I am able to connect via 3G and Afrihost backup account.

It is not just me I have colleagues that can't connect either.
