What are the rest of you guys waiting for? Throttling means some entity intentionally trying to kill another entity. Its not a fricken massage !!!

Think most folk have canned MWEB by now.... I am not with MWEB the thieves, but I can get onto their homepage.

I canned MWEB today, they are thieves selling false products to everyone. And it's quite easy to work out there threshold caps before you get throttled. I'm on a 1 meg line, used 106 gigs last months me only 35 this month, so you looking at roughly 3 to 4 gigs a day and you will be throttled. Now we all know they actually can't tell you that, but anyone who is throttled can do the math. What's worse is they actually change your data speed to 256 kilobyte line instead of just throttling the abuse, P2P, streaming and one day I would like to see how my usage of playing games affects everyone else on there line according to there AUP of there's, because that's the only reason they could give me for throttling I am affecting everyone else. How do implement a made up threshold they cant tell you. So how are you suppose to know what's the limit and watch yourself if they don't even know it. But GOODBYE MWEB never again, and hope the rest leave MWEB behind for service providers who are better and actually care about the customers.

The throttling is done over a 30 day rolling window and you can check the account status via My Account ADSL TAB.

We believe that throttling certain individuals for bringing strain onto the Network is better than shaping on the whole Network. What this does is makes the overall customer base experience much better hence the positive feedback we've been receiving from clients experiencing better speeds.

We have a top class Network, which our entire customer base will start feeling since we are now managing the excessive users.

If you'd like, I can have a look into your account to let you know more or less when the speed limiting will be lifted.

What is the ratio between good and bad responses related to the current policy and implementations? Seeing what’s going on around the PR side it does not look good, your FB page is complete havoc with complaints, threads here are a disaster and elsewhere.

Can you show as some positive response and also the related issue going along with it, as I’m seeing no one happy with the current conditions related to broadband speeds and limitations related to your uncapped packages?

You can also not say entire network, since you stated that 3% (individuals) will always be unhappy due to the throttling.

The moment I switch to an IS account news.is.co.za is flying full speed.

So yeah, we know that "News Servers isn't gauranteed etc" ... but I think going over to a provider/package that allows me to grab, the majority of the time, at speeds that my line is set at is expected.

MWEB has a pathetic news server, if you want to use newservers stay away from them. Actually if you want to use your internet stay away from them.

Well, been watching that facebook, and Hellopeter, and Mybroadband forums, and I gotta say .... you are being generous with the truth, or are just living in a dream world.

Either way ..... S'pose the new model isn't a business decision .... its all for those customers ... particularly the ones who use the net ''normally' .... to check e-mails and facebook for 5 to 10 minutes a day.....

How is your general experience with browsing, etc? The news server is a best effort service depending on the load as well.

I downgraded from 2mb non premuim to 1mb premium because I thought this would stop me from being throttled, I have never been so wrong in my life.

You probably find their throttle area is quite close. You should have gone for 4mbps uncapped. I haven't had any issues

The Premium package is a superior package to the Standard package. The speed limiting is more lenient on the Premium pacakge as well. You downloaded the account and it is currently being speed limited.

You can monitor the account via My Account and once you find the balance, you will enjoy our network.

Blah blah blah ..... Uncapped unshaped un adulterated speed with my OW 4Mbps account .... and no worries in the world .....

That MWEB cancellation form is a wonderful thing ....................
