MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Interested to know which ISP would endorse this. +/- 1Mb/s 24/7?
None, but they don't need to, its impossible to watch streaming video 24/7, most people would do a few hours a day which in my mind is completely fine and should not result in throttling.

You don't have an extended family do you?

But I agree 24/7 is impossible but MDweeps lump it all together. They just look at the G's. I am connected 24/7 maybe that is the idiots problem.

Anyway on Afrihost Mobile now. 99.9% less issues experienced. Even PS3 gaming is better with the same ratio.

Nope, but not many people stream at 4am, there will always be a time when no streaming is occuring

My 4th consecutive day with the HEAVY THROTTLING on my 1 meg.

Unable to game. unable to stream. unable to download. But most of all, unable to live

But then Steam updating or PS3 updating or a general download may be active. That means you are using the service you pay for 24/7 and according to the Mweb cant's that's against their AUP and U will be throttled.

Sometimes that time of the morning I watch porn in HD ;)

Thank gawd I am rid of the Mdweep vermin!

Any idea where all the speed has gone?

Edit: Thats off a 4mb line :(

Mweb Guy, sending you a PM. No ways my line can be so ****ty with the amount of data I did this month (10.5gb). Tested 3 other accounts and all of them fly...

How much of a mission is it to transfer my line back to Telkom / to Afrihost or other ISPs? Can I transfer directly or must it go back to Telkom first?

You have used 10.45 GB so far this month.

Evening bees

Thanks for the information via PM.

As mentioned, this is a Business account. I have escalated it to our Business Division and they will be in contact with you regarding your query.

What I don't understand is that I have been using this service for years without as much as a warning letter. Now all of a sudden my usage patterns have become a problem. So what has changed?

Was it my usage? No, that has not changed. So if my usage was accpetable but is not anymore, then the service I entered into with Mweb is not the same service I am currently receiving. This is more than just changing the way the AUP is enforced.

Anyway I'll wait for the dust to settle, but I will not change my usage, in fact i'll download more, this is release season, of the 100 gigs i've used this month, about 80 gigs are games and updates for those games, that's only about 6 or seven games, games are huge these days and November is going to be way more hectic with releases than August. If I get throttled in November I'll say good bye to mweb, but since i'll inevitaby be throttled maybe I should say good bye now already. I would like to be loyal but I kind of feel like my hand is being forced here...

Evening F1ve_Claw

I checked the account and everything is fine, nothing on the line to say it could be something. I re-authed the account on my side, power down the router for a few minutes and test after that.

MWEB ADSL feedback .... Leave MWEB .. they are arrogant and cr@p to do business with.

THEY decide when to throttle you because YOU are abusing THEIR network albeit YOU PAID for the bandwidth.

And if you go onto their FB page, MWEB girl will gladly send you a cancellation form right after expressing his sorrow (sarcastically) they you are cancelling.
Hellopeter illicits a standard reply - our consultants will be with you shortly ..

In short MWEB couldn't give a hoot and the folks that work there are too chicken to break rank and admit their employer is the best candidate for ring piece of the year award.

Reported.

The title name of this thread should be renamed to 'MWEB Softcapped ADSL feedback.'

In my opinion. what MWEB has been trying to do for the past 2 months - FORCE THEIR CUSTOMERS TO GO TO DSTV IF THEY WANT TO WATCH TV SHOWS 24/7 (Not literally) WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT GETTING THROTTLED TO DEATH. THEY ARE DOING THIS TO PLEASE THEIR MASTERS IN PYAJAMAS ONLY, NOT THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS.

Just proves their AUP is out of date and their mindset is still in 2009.

You use the internet for something else than browsing and email

Just sub to dstv and you have everything :)

What is this "family" and "steam" :erm:

3GB is enough for everyone ;)

Yesterday I was unthrottled, I downloaded as I usually do, today like magic I am throttled again.
The day before I was in contact with someone from the "moving" department... suddenly went silent and still waiting for a reply.
