To report back on TOR and mweb, I've played last night and it's been a lot better. I still get minor spikes, but at least it's mostly in the range of 220-250ms :)

1 MB Uncapped ADSL Trial Account

Hi,

I signed-up for a 1mb uncapped trial account on the 24th Jan 2011. I have been unable to do anything with the account. My tracert to any website looks like this :

I have created a ticket this morning.

Does anyone know if there is something wrong or if there is a period you need to wait for before your account becomes active.

I signed up because I was planning on moving to this package next month...

There should be no waiting period for the trial account to become active.
Send me a PM with the trial account details so that I can have a look into this for you.

So i wait 3 weeks to get telkom guy to come over, he comes over and he tells me that the owners of the building have a telkom box in the building but do not allow lines to be installed on their walls. does anyone know where i can find a cable channel installer around Pretoria Hatfield?
 
Hmmm. I'm struggling to stream youtube videos all of a sudden. Videos play for 5 seconds before cutting off. Is there a problem on the network?

Whenever someone has connectivity issues you randomly say me too. As I've mentioned to you previously your account is not active with us.

Do you have a different MWEB account? If yes, please provide me with it as I'll be more than happy to assist you.

Why does Mweb STILL not load myyearbook.com? I mentioned this 4 months ago, was promptly ignored and it seems even time hasn't sorted that bit out.

Hell I don't even know if I like the site or not because I've never been able to access it.

Hi Basjohn,

I just had someone test from 2 different locations and the site does open.

Are you using specified DNS's? Have tried different browser's and on different PC's? Have you tried opening the site from a different location using an MWEB account?

Have your checked your browser security settings?

Hi,

Just tried myyearbook.com myself. From my local mweb account, i get a connection reset in Firefox. Same from our office which is on IS. If I relay over a linode proxy in the UK, I get in fine though. Not sure if that helps

Offcourse I am going to state my query here too so that you may be made aware of more than one person having the SAME ISSUE.

I have forwarded my username to you previously but will inbox you again.
I cannot understand you not picking up my session, as it is active PERMANENTLY. I rarely reboot / switch off my router - unless the power fails

Along the lines of the above post www.myyearbook.com does not open on my MWEB connection - but all other ISP's (Axxess, Afrihost, IS Business,GamCO,FNB Connect open that site 100%).
Should I not post I have that issue too ?

its not opening from my Mweb account either.

Anyone experiencing some slow speeds on youtube? Usually i can stream 240p videos with buffering on my 1meg but now i have to pause it and let it reach at least 3/4
