@ MWeb Can Mweb transfer lines from SAOL or only from Telkom? Please respond as I would like to give this a try.
Hi I am Penguin,

I'm investigating for you, will revert when I have a definate answer.

Also...Are the service locked per telephone line number or can the single concurrent connection also be used from another location .... say either home or office.
No, the service is not locked to a specific telephone number, but we do enforce a single concurrent connection. Thus if you wish to use it from home and office you would need to make sure you disconnect on the one side before attempting to connect on the other.

Should you wish to have both sides operating at the same time, you would need to purchase 2 seperate accounts.

Hi Mr Mweb Rep.

I got an application form and there is a section for an Authority for a debit order. When I first spoke to a consultant they said I could do an EFT every month, how would I do this?
Hi Pooky,

Best to dicuss with our sales call centre on 08600 32000. If your still having issues by Tue, PM me and I will put you in contact with someone senior in our billing dept.

Thanks for the reply, I will wait for further information.

Another question re the two telephone lines. Must both be 384 or may they be different, Do/can you enforce the 384 lower speed from your side or should I purchase your max line sync speed in this case?

I would like to know the answer as well. As I said in my thread, you have to give them 30 days notice, so minimum would be 60 days if trying the service out. I don't know how that would work if we have control i.e. with an EFT payment and not a direct debit.

The sales people send you to the marketing people for any questions that aren't within their training file. We are asking here because it takes a long time to get through at the mo.

Hi I am Penguin,

Yes we do, so you are free to use whatever speed line you like, however the package you buy will only run up to its specified max speed (permanently).

I am a current MWeb ADSL user, and my existing account has high speed (4Mbps), with a 5GB cap (R579 all inclusive). I don't need (yet) 4Mbps uncapped (R899), and I don't think I wan't to go down to 512Kbps (R599).

The new packages don't seem to offer a clear benefit relative to what I'm currently using, unless I change my surfing habits drastically. There doesn't seem to be much mention in the press release of this 'average user' profile (not the low-end profile).

Thanks for the answer, I spoke to them and they said I must fill in all my details authorising the debit order and then once my line is active I can speak to them again regarding EFT.

With MTN I know they said that but now they insist on using debit orders, I would rather this didn't happen, so is this correct?

Hi Gordon_R,

I'm enquiring if there are any other options for you, will revert as soon as I have something.

Why should it bother you? By definition revert means: going back to or to come back (to a previous state, point in a discussion etc).

it may mean return to a specific PAST point of discussion but not current

That's the whole point, to revert to an unanswered query.

Good point but his use of it grammar wise if nothing else is still wrong, it implies that he will change back into the person that asked the question.

Hi rambo919,

Funnily enough I do actually remember where I picked it up from ... a (senior) Telkom guy ... no kidding.

Anyway, far more pressing matters to attend to ... I think most understand what I mean.

Hi I am Penguin,

Unfortunately at the moment we can only perform a line transfer from Telkom, this is a limitation of Telkom's system/process.
