MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Can't stream even a 48kbit stream of my favourite radio station tonight... this is just not good enough. I hope this network upgrade I am seeing mentioned everywhere sort out these latency issues at least.
 
Wow - I haven't downloaded anything since been told to move over to @mweb.co.za, and tonight scheduled something from Astraweb and MWEB newsgroups - sitting at 450-500KB/s :eek:

I really wish SA would reach a stage where this is constantly sustainable.

details sent - I am on the verge of canceling. Been too frustrated the last few weeks. BTW is the canceling process easy? If tomorrow night is the same cr@p I'm outta here.
 
MWeb rocks!!! :D :D :D I predict MWeb will be the best ISP in SA when They are done upgrading their networks :D I really hope they will see no reason to keep their shapers.... hahaha. I can survive it anyway.

As a 384K uncapped user (shaped), I have downloaded 12gb so far :D All in 4 days :D I love you, MWeb people! Keep it up!

I hope you actually read all the "abuse" threads.. They cancelled all of 30 accounts who were obviously doing far, far more than 12GB in 4 days. Were you one of those who got cancelled or something?
 
i found that mweb is fine for a ong term downloader, ie i know i want this and i am willing to wait. but for the person who has a 4mbps line because they want to get the stuff as soon as possible, I found mweb not ideal. their shaping policy is extremely draconian. The fact that I could not enjoy my 4mbps line for what it is eventually made me jump ship.

Hehehe. Well, as you said, MWEB uncapped package is ideal for a long-term downloader like me. I download something I really need. Nothing more. I doubt MWeb would accuse me of abuse if I use <= 40 gig per month:)

That's a lot less than what those banned people managed to pull.

I use bitTorrent to download stuff and sometimes download stuff via http. I don't intend to bypass shapers by using vpn trick. That would surely land me in trouble :(

Hey, there's an option in my bitTorrent that lets you encrypt data traffic. It's set to auto-detect by default. It sometimes let me download at almost full speed during working hours :( That scares me :(

Should I turn it off in order to protect my account from being terminated? MWebOps, advices please.

The place where I hail is a small town in Eastern Cape. It seems that not many people in my area has adsl.
