Is any one else having a problem with Usenet on mweb since last night?

Ive only downloaded 4GB since last night normally its considerable more(+-8GB), allso it would appear that its a lot slower this evening, I was getting 50-60kbs this time of night last week, but tonight its more like 20-30kbps,and seems very erratic with 0kbs spikes every minute or two added to the fact that it is friday night and mweb normally does very well on the weekends.

Are they shaping us more now?

PS Im using a 10mbit line but Im on mwebs 4mbit packadge.

Edit: forgot to mention youtube got very slow the last few days aswell it needs to buffer most videos even if Im watching it at 320p on my 4meg connection?

Ahh thank you ,sorry about that only read the last two pages will read back a bit more lol

Hope they get it sorted, as theres no real alternatives at the moment

MWEB, can you please comment if users are suppose to be experiencing this super degradation on your systems? You seem to be very quiet on that front.

My speed sucks getting 28kb on a 4 meg line. I thing a 50 gig bundle might be a better deal considering I used 64 Gig at most over 6 months so var.

I'm glad Shayd's connection is sorted. Wish I could say the same. World of Warcraft 3rd Stage patch via p2p is running at no more than 25k/s. So there is still throttling happening on the line.

I just re-activated my Express+ account with Axxess again, flying at full line speed. I already paid for this month with Mweb, and will see how they are after their much needed upgrades next week. If they aren't up to scratch, then they will get to process my cancellation.

Had to reactivate my account with Web Africa due to my M-Web uncapped account being absolutely dead. It connects fine, but no traffic.

What the f... M-Web, why is this such a problem for you? Not hiring the right people on the networking side of things? This is ridiculous. I don't forsee getting any kind of refund for the 6 hours I've had no service for, and who knows, since it's not fixed yet it could still take ages.

1) Get your goddamn network working, invest in appropriate redundancy, and ENSURE that the redundancy purchased can be switched to seamlessly should anything go wrong.
2) Sort out your performance issues, this week in particular the service behaves like I'm using a 384K line. I'm not paying you guys to be able to NEVER reach 4mbits speeds, I expect that speed at least > 50% of the time, otherwise don't advertise it as 4mbits.
3) Just fix it dammit, the service is by and large great, but quite frankly, I would vote M-Web ADSL as the most unreliable out there, are you guys happy being seen that way? That's what it looks like.

Hi Guys

We are in the process of finalizing our network upgrades. We have IPC nodes in CT and JHB now and we’re moving customers back from the SAIX wholesale network onto our own IPC network. We’re busy load-balancing the CT and JHB IPC nodes at the moment. It’s a case of fine-tuning / tweaking the configuration and it’s likely to take us until the end of this week to get it right. Early next week we will also be getting another 1.2Gbps of international bandwidth.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

When can we except to see a increase in the performance? This last week has been terrible and its deteriorated to a snails pace.

Honestly, I paid for a 4m uncapped account, not a 384k. Getting really bad speeds of about 30 - 60k and gaming is out of the question with ridiculous latency. Seriously when will this be fixed or is this just going to stay this way?

512K uncapped and I'm getting 3.5KB\s on astraweb. This must be start of some clandestine effort for Naspers to start saving money. Maybe they should start by retrenching all the useless morons working at optinet....

MWEB.... Sort out the int bandwidth speeds or you can take your DSL service and shove it up your @ss

At exactly 11:00 it went back up to 90kbps, seems very precise to be a "network" problem but reading ( http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=4775795#post4775795 ) it could just be that there busy moving the network over, I'm just hoping this isnt a new "shapping" plan, mwebs silence in this matter isnt helping any...

Your lucky. Still on 40Kbs here!!!

I logged a call this morning - so far not a word. Maybe I should start logging calls on the hour every hour.

94kbps on astraweb ,seeing as your in cape town and still getting 40kbps probably means that there still working on the IPC nodes in CT and JHB as stated above.

PS nice blog
