lol. If you ever need definitive proof as to why the South African ADSL service is the way it is, look no further than this thread. MWEB is able to string everyone along with empty promises, who are happy to pay 4Mb prices for 384Kb services. The moment the consumers stop taking this crap, will be the moment the ISPs realise they actually have to do something. For now, lol, they can just do what they want :(

I've been watching their responses. Always "Send us your details and we'll look". Then they ask "is it OK now". I think they're hoping the problem fixed itself and have done exactly nothing.

You are already getting speeds that are X 1,000,000 of what NNTP was designed for so be happy.
 
Yeah, I'm having insane throughput issues on my 4Mbps line. I download at a maximum of 100 kb/s even though I have a 4Mbps line. I initially thought it was Mweb, so I tested it with WA same problem. I then tried Axxess and I got full speed.

Yeah it's definitely not the telkom line.

I am on a 4mb Mweb Uncapped shaped line, but my speeds vary when downloading on HTTP (my company website) from 12kb/s to 40kb/s.

I phone Mweb support and the person asks me to change my realm to @mweb instead of @dslmweb. Does not have any effect.

The guy tells me that he will get a specialist to phone me.

The "specialist" phones me only to tell me, to change my realm again! Obviously after this has no effect, he asks me to use his FNB Connect account and gives me the details over the phone to test.
Immediately I am running on 400kb/s (The speed I am paying for)

Now the specialst tells me that we will escalate the issue as clearly something is wrong. This was last week Thursday and no response as yet.

Any of the mweb guys on here willing to help?:mad:

Getting blistering 10kbs speeds on a 4mb line :(

Edit: Think it was the torrent, not the line. My bad MWeb.

torrents have been maxing out at 280kbs and i expect they will only get faster in the early hours, nice one mweb, prior to the upgrade and before the saix bandwidth i only saw those speeds after 3am, during the day they max at 80kbs, generally sticking between 50-75, again a significant improvement compared to the 9kbs i was stuck with before during peak hours. Hope things continue like this.

Can you PM me who you went with please - I am sick of this **** now.
Cancelling today as well, I am paying premium for my NEWS provider - and I cannot even get those files, atm im just dumping money into nothing because of MWEB
