Is there any update on the Mweb news server issue? It's been on and off since Friday.

For me Mweb news works all the time...

The best was way back when my cap account thought i was trying to access anything google related via local cap. Now I just have problems with torrents and DC++ which even through the night only bagged me 100-200MB....nothing else was running during that time.

Same here. Switched over to my SAOL account and get full speed.

The shaping has nothing to do with network load or being dynamic. They simply throttle it to fix rates. My day speed is fixed on 10kbps and increase to 80 after 6 like clock work and to full line speed at midnight.

I don't care what whom say, two months of data logs can't be wrong...

I know that one of my colleagues has been looking into the news server queries over the course of last week, I'll ask him to give us a full update today on exactly what the status is.

10k during the day, 6pm goes to 50k, 11pm 140k, 1am full speed, 6am 100k, 7am 50k.. 8am 10k ..... Over the weekends... Full speed from 1am to 8am, the rest around 160k, (but this last weekend around 100k)

Last night at around this time I could only get 20-40k on YouTube even on the 240p setting it still buffered like mad... They said there was some problem with the Google caching servers, perhaps it isnt resolved yet....

That is a known bug - where Steam 'catches up' displaying your download speed.
I have seen 16MB/s on my 3G 0.o

I would agree except I am moving quite a bit of traffic at the mo. Total usage between 150k-400+ , accross multiple protocols, although Steam is doing a big chunk. Just saying the account is behaving well for me tonight.
