In general network usage over weekdays drops over the December period and picks up in January once businesses start running again. I would hazard a guess and say December was only 60-75% of normal utilization.

Now that December is over, their network is taking a bit of a hit again with the added load and shaping is subsequently having a larger effect. Indicates to me that they should *probably* (if they wanted to maintain a similar to December experience consistently) have about 20-30% more capacity than they currently do for dealing with peak times.

However that's just some speculation.
 
Methinks someone somehow cut corners for december and now its biting them in the ass, allso just speculation.

Just a quick thanks to MWeb Ops/Finwell. Through much trial and error we managed to rule out M-Web for the most part (tried various tests on the line, also tried other routers and other accounts). Reported problem to telkom - from the looks of things our ADSL line has some weird readings on it, but when you call telkom then the call centre drone has absolutely no idea what the hell is going on so you can't ask them or report the error in detail. Thankfully they gave me a reference number, which is all that damn call centre seems to do.
 
Well ops got back to me, and said he'll get back to me on monday hahaha.
SUCKS that this had to happen on a weekend, oh well at least there's nothing I need urgently.

Also in PTA cant browse cant watch video's nothing!!
 
Well speed has improved a smidgit, gotta love how utterly chaotic the mweb network is, no two clients can possibly have the same experience it seems.
 
I have to say its very odd that speed is actually better on a monday than on a sunday.

Spoke too soon, trying to download a few things from MSDN....4 hours mayby and i got almost 100MB done...yay
