PM from MWEB ops

Hi Rambo919

Please note that our technicians looked at the information you provided and taking into consideration that your usage for this month is on par with December. We have deduced that your downloads are running at its optimum.

Please note that my recommendation to all P2P users is to consider the overall amount of bandwidth you have used for the month, rather than speed watch on a daily basis.

Regards,
MWEB Ops

I am not connecting AT ALL to 196.28.78.229. news.mweb.co.za gives me a MAXIMUM of 5KBps, and anything that actually downloads is currupt.
Furthermore my news server speed this month was 10KBps lower than last month, the reason it looks the same is because this month I allso did FTP downloads.

So no, NOTHING about my current situation is optimum and if the dayly speed is slower one month that the previous OBVIOUSLY the total will be smaller, dont feed me that bull**** like im some grandpa.

Allso HTTP and FTP downloads today have been so bad that for a few hours they never even climbed over the 5KBps mark or just disconnected, something which is happening again right now. There is such a thing as slower downloads, but not being able to download at all is something else entirely.

Lastly sorry if this post seems a bit chaotic, im rather upset atm.

Ok good, MWEB ops now did a bit of fiddling and now it actually works again. Thank you, and sorry for my reaction but this really was the last straw.

yes you need to try till it works, i do sometimes like 10 times then i get in.

im using grabit, altbinz did not work at all.

I have been struggling for 2 weeks with slowish browsing and news server downloads running at a max of 10 kb during the day and 40 kb at night on a 4 mb line. MWEB Ops your input or assistance here would be appreciated

Line fault? Or can you connect with a different account?

I would ask Telkom to run a line test, and possibly borrow a router to eliminate that as the culprit.

Do you have a Telkom or Mweb Router,

If you have a 4 Meg line and these routers,, thats your problem.

yip thats true
i currently have a mecer router that cybersmart gave me. If were to run into problems as per above it would be the first thing i blame :P

Have the wonderful MWEB router ;( don't have the money for another one atm. Neva thought the router itself might be the problem.

Still struggling through today. its off peak and I am getting a brilliants 30kb/s.

I've given up complaining about their crap speeds throughout the weekends and day/night. No point really as nothing ever changes. Network sometimes 'works' OK for a short period of time and the rest of the time speed is a luxury. My account never hit's full line speed...not even on weekends these days.
