Or here (Randpark Ridge). Speeds have been pathetic since last week Thursday. Phoned Telkom last night and they were as bloody useless as always. :(
 
i restarted my pc , and there goes 400kbs of bandwidth, im running full speed on 192.28.78.229 server

edit speed seem to dropped to like 100kbs or less :(

think il give payed news servers a go. thats where most guys get good speeds.

Odd, restarted my router once and my newsreader twice and now it kinda works.
MWEB's shaping rules have obviously been backfiring for months now but this is has gotten rediculous.

EDIT: getting the error "[07:25:39] Level: ERROR PROTOCOL=Download Engine, SERVER=196.28.182.50, MSG=DL_DI - Bad Message-ID - If this happens alot Re-install Newsbin

News servers are dead. Browsing pretty horrible. Gmail is giving errors (see quoted text below) When I switch to my Telkom backup account everything works perfectly

MWEB tried to kick Telkom in the balls....Telkom unfortunately has balls of iron.

MWEB=-5 Telkom=5
Thats what you get when you take on a bully with a bigger "stick" than you.

Bite the bullet and pay the $9.99/mnth, so much more worth it than wondering if mweb news is on/off all the time.

ok i bought astraweb account, not sure what port etc to use , but so far im struggling to get good speeds with it
 
Getting very slow speeds on my 4MB line. YouTube is only getting 13.8 kbs and drivers from AMD is getting 11.8 kbs

Paid newservers are not the be all and end all.

I honestly dont think it matters as MWEB are shaping the hell out of the protocol.

I havent had acceptable speeds once this year... 11 months to go...
 
Struggling to open sites, especially international ones. Took ten retries to open MyBB. Getting 5kb/s max on the sites that don't time out.
