Eish! I feel for the MWeb reps here - don't know if they are high up enough on the totem pole to convey both the depth of frustration and breadth of awareness of the problem on this forum. Unfortunately, management, while making technical decisions (disguised as business decisions) rarely stick around to experience the implications that flow from those decisions...and the techs who implement the 'policies' are usually far removed from the techs who are at the receiving end of the complaints.
The ONLY way to get this problem looked at seriously is for an external person who has credibility with MWeb senior management brings it to their attention.
We can bleat, squeal, insult, ridicule and threaten to leave (or even leave) as much as we like - it's lost in the overall stats that management get to see and therefore won't get attention.
and like most of you, I don't mind the P2P shaping - I do mind the poor performance on http, YouTube, gmail (occasionally) - I pay for a 4 meg line - can I please have 4 meg performance for the basic services (email, browsing, youtube, patch updates, etc).
