Dear Mweb & Mr Rudi Jansen
Will we be able to get a refund or some compensation?
I cant see how paying for almost a months faulty product can be legal ?
Warm Regards
Janneman / Vaalpens
I'm afraid that refunds are not up for discussion here.
I can understand that there is a frustration level in this forum, but please understand that the users in this environment are a very tech savvy bunch and are very demanding in terms of what they want out of the network.
This is not to say that we don't take your concerns seriously and we are making every effort to address them, but the service has certainly not been unusable by any stretch of the imagination.
We are putting another small change in place tomorrow morning at 6am for both Cape Town and JHB. These are minor adjustments based on customer feedback and test results from today.
Further to this I have raised as much awareness as I can in terms of the performance of the MWEB news servers and it is being given serious consideration, but I cannot guarantee you any time lines on this so you will need to exercise some patience.
Finally on the p2p front I have noted that some of you are not happy with the performance of international nntp feeds.
This is something I am aware of and I don't believe it is a new issue.
In terms of getting a share of the p2p pool the more aggressive swarming protocols always tend to fare better.
This is again something that is under discussion with our networks team and there are some proposals on the table to look at more granular approaches to prioritizing p2p traffic, but these are solutions that have to be thought through very carefully and I cannot make you any promises as to when and how anything will be implemented on this front, but I will certainly keep it on my agenda.
This is everything I can share with you guys right now, please enjoy the rest of your evening
