This is becoming crazy, its 11:30pm and I'm still getting 10-25kB/s on torrents. (on 4096 Uncapped)
Is anybody else experiencing the same?

Oooh, I read somewhere that MWeb throttles users (W.R.T non-priority traffic) that have exceeded a certain amount of bandwidth for the month. Is this true? If so, what is the threshold?

Is it in the MWeb AUP? No. How do you expect anyone to reply to something you "read somewhere". Provide a link to it if you expect anyone to take you seriously.

Definately not I assure you.

We are experiencing very high demand this evening on the non-priority BW pool resulting in high levels of contention for download traffic. This should ease into the early hours of the morning, however your posted performance does seem below par. PM me some specifics if you'd like me to investigate/escalate.

Gaming

So I play dota, a custom map on the game warcraft3, on a local server. Ever since about 2 days ago, I drop about every 2nd game. And its not just me. Everytime I drop and enter the main lobby I see:

"wtf"
"netsplit?"
"is the server down"

Then I ask these people, what ISP are they using. EVERYONE says mweb. I message the users still ingame, and their game is going on perfectly without us mweb users. Can you please explain what is going on Mr Representative and if it will change.

I only moved to Mweb for the uncapped and to maintain the gaming requirements i had before. But now that practically everyone is providing these packages around the same price, it makes me wonder.

And lets not forget Black Sunday! Internetlessness is a real disorder
 
Hey, i cancelled my afrihost as of 3 days ago as i had been throttled at dial up speeds... and got myself mweb 384k uncapped.... its been running nicely the whole time. No complaint. Alot better than the previous ISP.
 
Well I'm getting around 5/6gb per day on my 4mb uncapped at Mweb.. Not bad but I know it's suppose to be way more :(

Can someone tell me who's a HTTP download place (Like giganews?/Rapidshare?/Astraweb????)

My friend has a account at Newshosting and he's getting full speed but he is paying R1000 for a uncapped express account... not sure if that makes the diff?
 
Just upgraded to a 4mb line and I'm only doing 50-80kbps (downloading from HTTP). Should be doing up to 400! What gives? Well I guess I've got to let it settle in.
 
Guys, my speeds stink. Ranging from 0.8-0.11Mbps on speedtest. Does anyone know how my traffic gets routed from the easterncape? I presume its PE, CT, JHB, Midrand, Mtunzini, World...

It seems very throttled to me on my 4MB.

Usage this month: ±125gigs

Speedtest results:
Down: 1.4Mb/s
Up: 0.40Mb/s

Restricted to 1.5Mb/s? I have not been able to get 4MB download speeds over the past week on any protocol, HTTP, news, etc. Perhaps the honeymoon phase is over :(
 
Perhaps Telkom is being kind with my line (rental through them, ISP is Mweb). Last night my HTTP downloads ran fullspeed.... at work now though, so my pc is off :)
 
Anyone else having problems on international sites at 12 noon. Couldn't ping google.com.

Is SEACOM is down? Tracert to google is now going via SAT-3.

Update: Seems to be going via SEACOM again. I've been out all morning, so maybe I've missed the up-down queries earlier...
