also been having the same problem over the last few days..

keep losing connection on my 4mb uncapped account.

like now, only local working.

Hmm bit concerned about that. I'm getting 4mb soon, but not sure where. Am starting to consider Afrihost Capped really. They don't shape that at all, do they?

Browsing seems fine but downloads are crawling here. Third day with mweb and I've already got an issue

I just really hope that its nothing major and it gets fixed really soon. At this rate my download is going to time out.

But they can't test the conditions on your line at your premises from their side, so they have to ask you to test it. The conditions at your side are different to the conditions at their test bench.

Not true. They can see everything. Line quality, noise etc.

On Telkom Bandwidth now. Connection started playing up around 17:30 MWEB non existent for all but a few bursts of connectivity. The weekly cycle continues. What are you guys up to over weekends? I'm always quick to back MWEB up but I'm starting to look stupid now!

Yes, we can check your line quality and noise etc, but we definitely can't see everything.

If we test from our test bench which is a similar setup as a customer, it is us testing specific sites, downloads, quality etc. That means tests from our line.

It does not give your line readings.

Your tests are from your PC out to the internet.

SabreWolfy, is correct.

I'm trying to download a steam game tonight at its simply not downloading (jumping between 10 and 50Kb/s) .
On the bright side though, I can stream both MLG SC2 streams simultaneously so there's something to do while the game downloads

Think you and I are having a very similar problem. Don't know about filesonic, but things like Hotfile and Megaupload are downloading pretty slowly.

Filesonic and fileserve are no-go zones using MWEB--there is a whole thread on this somewhere. What is MWEB policy on these http type paid download accounts? Are they regarded as peer-to-peer sharing site that automatically get throttled? or just blocked, like now?
