Any word on what caused the Steam outage last night, and what seems to repeatedly cause it?

If Mweb can fix that, I'll cancel my cancellation. If you cant, end of this month I'm switching to Openweb.

What steam outage? I was playing CSS till 1am last night. Had no problems with steam at all.
 
FYI: We do not upgrade Telkom exchanges.

I am well aware of that fact I've actually been running a 10meg line for the last 14+ months , but I am on a 4meg package with you, so my maximum throughput never exceeded 4 meg, currently its doing 8 meg.

Guess its a problem somewhere , but till its fixed I enjoy the 8 meg connection.

Not complaining , but just now the send me a AUP violation email because its was doing 800kbps this morning :P
 
Please advise which DL is running slow.

I don't know about Qrox but I am experiencing very slow speeds on a 4mbps uncapped account. Around 20K/s for most international downloads but most specifically for iPad firmware.

Is there any diagnostic you would recommend I run to narrow down the source of the problem?

Anyone else ever have this problem: Trying to send mail via outlook on port25. Mweb account, no love. Cannot reach the outgoing server. Switch to my cellphone. Works perfectly.
I switched off my router firewall completely, but that's not it. Appears to be Mweb blocking it. How bizarre, how bizarre.

Please advise if you using your own outgoing SMTP e.g. smtp.itpro.co.za

If yes, we have communicate the change via email and on our website to customers, that they should use port 587.

If port 587 does not work, you'll need to email our abuse department ([email protected]) to assist with alternatives.

When I reported it to them, they advised me to communicate to customers all Gaming queries should rather go directly to them, so that feedback is faster.

So the customer must do the work? I dont want to register on another forum - thats too much of my time. I'm paying Mweb to provide a service, and currently it is not working. You represent Mweb officially, and I want feedback from you. Can you get it for me?

EDIT: Or how about a gaming rep register here? Thats easier I think.

Pages taking long to load, downloads slow, speedtest showing a 3rd of my normal speed, terrible latency to local game servers ..... is something broken again in time for the weekend?

P.S - my other accounts are fine, so no, it's not my line ;)

Just a reminder

Please be advised that we will be carrying out an upgrade to our network in our JHB data centre this weekend. The work is scheduled to last from 22h00 on Saturday 3rd September to 10h00 on Sunday 4th September.

Our ADSL, 3G and Dial-Up networks will not be affected and browsing and connectivity will continue as per normal. The following services will, however, be unavailable during the change.
• MWEB E-Mail and Message Centre
• Websites hosted on our Shared and Uncapped Hosting platforms will not be available, both for browsing, or updating of content)
• VOIP Services (Webcall, etc)
• JHB NNTP News Servers
• MWEB Game Servers Hosted in JHB
• The MWEB Portal (www.mweb.co.za including My Account and .Mobi)

yeah refresh has done nothing ....... it's really really crappy and I'm being forced to use another account so I can use the net.
