Got a bit of a problem, when I dial into my Mweb account from my PC (ie bridge mode) I get full speed downloads from news.mweb.co.za, but when I use normal pppoe my connection to news.mweb.co.za times out. I've disabled my firewall and turned off protected access on the mweb website. Any ideas?

Please try with a different router and connect with the normal ppoe connection and see if it replicates.

Thanks for the suggestion hereticangel, but im not to keen on giving out my ID# online, ill have to wait for tomorrow and try organize a pre-paid i gave mweb a call but the guys said it might take a couple of days for them to call me back, so just gotta wait i guess.

i'm also having some weird connection issue with mweb, some sites are fine, but sites like youtube, news servers, that kinda stuff is damn slow, now I do know that traffic gets shaped during the day, but not that that extent, and also, during the nights, at this times it usually gets faster, but this isnt the cause, its still really slow. A friend of mine, also on mweb uncapped, is downloading from the same kinda locations at normal / good speeds, loads better than what I am getting.

Downloading from a news server at this time at night at a whooping 8kb/sec and its a paid for international server.

Even trying to connect to chat.wage.co.za doesn't even load the full channel lists cause its to slow.

Please mweb, help, this is totally frustrating.

Update: 00:33, and cant even get connected to an international news server

Just wanted to hop in and say thanks to MWEB. I used them for a year, then moved to the Red Africa account from WA. After the problems with that account and the constantly looking over my shoulder at my every shrinking cap I returned to you folks and frankly I love not caring about my usage.

I do whatever I want with the account except download high volumes during the day and this suits me. My downloads are scheduled for early morning anyhow. So just a shout out to MWEB, thank you for the service, you have made my life just that much simpler.

Good Morning Sook, has your experience improved since yesterday evening? When did you experience first start deteriorating?

Hi Mweb Guy, no it hasnt improved, and I started noticing it on Monday when trying to connect to team speak, I had to make use of Web Africa. Then as per usual I started my downloads late at night and then noticed it there also. I left it for a day or 2 hoping it will fix itself, I have rebooted my router multiple time and also my computer, no change.

Filesonic is much better than earlier this week - getting 250kb/s right now, which is excellent considering it should be shaped now. torrent are supper fast all day round. Thanks for sticking around and keeping up with the support Mweb Guy & Will.
