Astraweb is dead at the moment. 100% shaping.. Yesterday the speeds were good... now they are dead...

and also surfing is slow as well

Rather notable lack of the MWEB rep in here tonight.. There seems to be a major fault/degradation in Cape Town. Anyone in the know at MWEB care to comment?
 
Yep since last night, things have been pretty slow this side (Cape Town). Downloads/streaming very slow, some websites just don't work. :/

Streaming youtube vids at a whopping 20KB/s. x_x

10 min to download adobe flash player update.... and that is with no torrent or anything else downloading on a 4MB line...
 
Hi Guys,

I have checked with our engineers and there seem to be no reported issues.
The network seems to be operating as normally according to their investigation.

I will continue to check in with them and let you know if anything comes up.

That's really weird. :/

Just took 10 minutes to finally get mybroadband going.
Google/gmail/youtube works fine, but any other website won't load. Trying to get driver updates from ati.com, not working.
 
Since this afternoon, up until about 30 mins ago, NNTP traffic was shaped/throttled to zero. Now it's running at around 50k/sec, where it's usually between 100-250k at this time of night. I'm not quite buying the "operating as normal" response, but I guess that's all we're gonna get.

Lucky you NNTP for me is still on 0 and usually is til about midnight. Guess network load is astronomically high during midnight.. maybe there's been a boom in latenight pr0n
 
Cr@p again. Can't load stuff all.

Just because the engineers reported that the service is "normal" doesn't mean that it's "acceptable".
 
Torrents also running at half speed here. Something must be going on. Internet started acting weird around 11am
 
Nntp running full speed (Astraweb), strange though a hour ago couldn't even get it running, logged into telkom and full speed log back into mweb full speed. Really strange maybe its full moon...
