MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Sorry for High Jacking this thread, But after having a 4096 Uncapped shaped account for 20 months i receive a email from [email protected] saying my usage is high and my service will be canceled if i don't sort it out.

Strange though seeing as my usage pattern has not changed at all!
My usage has never been below 500GB every month since i got the account, and now after 20 months it's a problem?

Sorry Mweb you may cancel my account at free will, i will go over to openweb than if you don't want my money!

I can't speak for MWEB, but they only send notification after prolonged/consistent/continuous contravention of the T&C/AUP. They don't say "how long" though, but 20 months is a long time so I guess you've been quite lucky :)

Did you bypass shaping or download massive amounts over VPN or share your connection with the world? How were you downloading the >500GB each month?

So watching a hour long youtube video could be considered abuse?
Or a two hour HD Skype call.....

Because just before i got the notification i was on skype and my brother was on youtube (for a good few hours)

And i don't use VPN at all! i have torrents running all the time, hence the 500GB, but they are suppose to be shaped?

An hour long YouTube video (or a few hours of YouTube) is not considered continuous usage. AFAIK, "continuous" means weeks/months of running the line at max speed. Torrents are shaped so my understanding is that they can be left to run 24/7, as long as they are not over an encrypted link. Are you sure that the seeders you were torrenting from were not establishing a secure connection? MWEB won't get involved in these discussions here BTW, so don't expect any comments from them :)
 
NNTP running at 56KB on my 1meg line (astraweb), browsing is fine and youtube not buffering at 360p.

Upload Speed: 90 kbps (11.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 194 ms
 
Download Timeout

Constant timeouts on wupload fileserv cant even finish a single download on a 4mbps syncing at 10mbps using an uncapped mweb 4mbps account
