Yes, thats right, uncapped - not 30gb, not 100gb, not 1tb, no - uncapped! Which means if you download at max speed for a month and get 1.1TB of traffic - you are using the product that you paid for.

OK let’s assume we can download 1TB. That translates to about 16 movies of excellent quality per day.
It takes 24 hours to watch that many. So I am moving into the Meals on Wheels and portable toilet business :)

Came home early today and browsing is better, downloaded the same patch again and it was doing 150 - 200KB/s, not great (50% linespeed) but better than the previous 30KB/s

Soooooooooo, it seems during the day MWEB shapes to keep business and normal users happy and in the evenings the reverse to keep the p2p and news crowd happy!!! Farking stupid philosophy!!!

Why?

Tested just now. Not getting that high latency.

7:45p.m. and my mweb account is now http downloading internationally at 0.3mbps. WHAT? THAT'S DIAL-UP SPEED!! DIAL-UP!! I'm effectively paying R530/month for evening dial-up speeds. Doh.

**** it, I'm leaving this backward-ass country in 3 weeks anyway. The "internet revolution" that these uncapped services were supposed to have initiated kinda sucked after all.

I hope you go to Bulgaria.

Not the fastest download but look at the upload speed.

40Mbit upload and download speed to the internet and 1Gbs within the LAN network of Bulgaria. So when you download from torrents and pick up other Bulgarian seeds/peers you will basically grab that as fast as your harddrive will allow.

Same here... in my test result it shows 0.7mbps but that only happened in the last 5% of the download phase, it was at 0.3mbps all the way till then. http://www.speedtest.net/result/812393652.png

Currenly on 4meg with mweb. Speeds at night are never more than 0.3Mbps down and 0.2Mbps up for international. Local is full speed though... not that that helps... http downloads run at a max of 5kBps at night... really sad :( :( :( :(

Looking at there new products where it states "enjoy new large downloads", i would assume that mweb are now adopting afrihosts approach and throttling users over certain usage, so they can try to sell this product. Way to go mweb you made everyone happy, but just like the company you are you have yet again disappointed! :)
