Speeds still up to maggots...

Sunday morning and evening respectively, so no business users...

And, no feedback or follow up from the MWeb support guys either - reported on Tuesday last week.

Unimpressed. Feeling ripped off. Angry. :(

Oh my word... well look at that!!
This message is hidden because Tanya35 is on your ignore list.

Fantastic! I didn't know there actually was an ignore function when I "jokingly" (wishfully?) wrote "/ignore Tanya35" in a previous message. Nice. Very nice :) (It's under "Forum Actions" | "General Settings" | "Edit Ignore List" for anyone else who might want to use it.)

Early Monday morning, before 07:00, and speeds are looking much much better...

... here's hoping it stays this way. I'm not holding my breath though, because I've had good speeds at times before and on average my international performance has been poor.

I did notice I got a different IP address this morning after having had the same one the past while. I wouldn't expect so, but could the problem be somehow related to that particular IP?

Rejoicing too soon...

Minutes later, just after 07:00, and international is broken again...

... seems like serious throttling to me! Most people aren't even at work yet and it's as if a switch was thrown at 07:00.

Showing me it works for you is not constructive at all, it's clear from these forums that things are working just fine for many users. However, figuring out why it is not working for me (and apparently a few others, which is also clear from these forums) would be very constructive.

My international speeds have been poor most of the month. Local has mostly been fine.

Why?

Your techies don't seem to have the answers. How is that?

I need four things from MWeb before I sign up:

1. Credit card payment option
2. Month-to-month account, thus no 30 days cancellation notice
3. Choice of pro-rata billing or month-to-month billing
4. Choice of activation date

Axxess offers ALL these features and I simply can't live without it anymore.

MWeb needs to realise that together with mind-bogglingly good products needs to be just as good a billing system.

The billing system MWeb is using is archaic and was meant for the moms and pops who bought a 1GB with free email package and didn't care for a debit order, now MWeb has to enter the age of credit cards and innovative billing!!

Else I'll stay with my slow IS uncapped account bought from Axxess

Hi wikus

Please see below answers to your questions.
If you need anymore information feel free to PM me.

1) We do have the option to pay via credit card.
2) All our ADSL accounts are on a month to month basis with a calendar month cancelation notice period.
3) All our billing is on a month to month basis, the only portion that gets pro rated is from activation date until month end.
4)You are able to activate a ADSL data product at any date.

Kind Regards
MWEB Operations

Ok nice!!
I couldn't find this info in your help articles, or maybe I didn't look hard enough.
Looks like I will be signing up after all.

I don't quite understand why a calendar month's notice is required when paying by credit card, since there is no debit order which has to be run and no contract.

Other ISP's allow us to set the product to expire at a certain date, just as I would set a date for activation

I have to laugh at the internet forum noobs just discovering very old functions. He's either 12 or in his 60's. Either way, it made me lol.

My mweb account iscrawling at the moment.

Sigh. For the past couple hours now actually. Router says been connecting for last few hours, yet when working on my pc or downloading anything it seems as though I get disconnected for a few seconds.

Changing my dsl mode to G.dmt seems to have fixed the issue.

07:30 the next day and my international speeds are still shocking...

Their support desk is going to give me a call after 08:00 to try and figure out what's going on.

Anybody else experiencing this on a 4Mbit account? Perhaps more people reporting in on the issue will help them figure out the pattern behind the cause.

Oh don't worry I have had MWEB busy sorting out my account for the last two weeks. Apparently it is receiving the necessary attention. My account is interesting, some nights you can download and others you can watch youtube or even surf the web. But I cannot expect to do both on the same thing (no not at the same time) as it seems its only one or the other.
