Where does the 12.9% come from? Are you one of those guys that look at your usage at the end of the month and go "Damn! I only did 333GB of a potential 1.333TB"?

4/31.

And no - my heaviest usage was 55GB in a month (IIRC)

But besides that, I'm not paying for usage, I'm paying for internet access. And I'm really not concerned about not being able to download 10GB this week, I'm annoyed because I can't do anything...

Yeah, that is only for the Rouxenator to do.

Bl**dy irritating!!
I put both of them on my "ignore list" but still get subjected to their whining like babies when other people quote them.

4 / 31 x 100% = 12.9%

Love me or hate me, it's still an obsession.
Love me or hate me, that is the question.
If you love me, then thank you.
If you hate me, then .... you :D

Yeah. Just look out for the "Originally Posted by ***" line and then skip to the next post :)

R1.64 per gb. Thats value for money. R22.36 per gb business. Not to bad either. Including line rentals.

I thought I would try my luck last night, and suddenly altBinz took off like a rocket. I was well impressed with the speed, especially in light of what's going on. Before I get flamed to a crisp, I did turn it off last night so not to abuse the emergency measures ;)

A word of advice - what's the 4meg like for Ps3 gaming? Is there only one connection? my brother has mates that join him on MW2, over saix, but he's thinking of MWEB 4meg uncapped.

Only 1 connection allowed. As for latency I don't know. Speedtest.net gives me a ping of 21ms from cape town to the WA speedtest server in Cape Town, which is the same as a SAIX account. Best to get opinion from peeps who have more experience with these accounts. I only just got mine :)

Thanks MFour. Probably not best with the single connection. But will pass on the info. He gets really low pings on SAIX, but it's costing a bit much with so many guys on his connection. Thanks again.

All uncapped accounts will allow only 1 concurrent connection, with any ISP unless there's one allowing more which would sound idiotic in a business sense

Hey everyone, I've upgraded my account from 384 to 512 successfully and it seems to be working so I'm leaving it at this speed now although when I do I pingtest I get a ping of around 500ms to any server in SA and outside of SA like the USA or UK I get a ping of 1600ms upwards. Anyone know what may be causing this?

What was the time when you did the pingtest?

From MWEB:

Dear MWEB Customer

Great news! As of the very early hours this morning we have restored all of our international bandwidth and we are running on full capacity once again. Indications from SEACOM are that their cable will only be restored later next week. In the interim, we now have full capacity split over two separate routes.

Once again, thank you for your patience and support during this time.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

Now this is good news :P

@Xhaphan: That email was sent about 12 hours ago :) A hushed silence has fallen over these forums today as everyone returns to browsing, downloading, etc.

What isn't good news is realizing the account is always settled in advance. Double bill ftl. Guess I'm looking at a month of canned beans for me hehe
