Back to normal :-)

Cruizing for a bruising.... but today my poor ol 384k has only done 2.511GB :P with 4 hours to go.

I made a Wireshark dump of attempting to login using this filter as according to https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711
Code:
(tcp.srcport>=27014 && tcp.srcport<=27050) ||( tcp.dstport>=27014 && tcp.dstport<=27050) || (udp.srcport>=27000 && udp.srcport<=27030) || (udp.dstport>=27000 && udp.dstport<=27030) || udp.srcport==3478 || udp.dstport==3478 || udp.srcport==4379 || udp.dstport==4379 || udp.srcport==4380 || udp.dstport==4380
Where should I send the file?

Hi crazy_cat

Have you done a tracert to see if there is a bottleneck somewhere? Let us know if we can assist with anything.

Those results look reasonably average crazy_cat. I can't see any signs of congestion on the Telkom side, or on our hops - what sort of problems are you experiencing exactly?

Hmm...posting this from my phone because of timeouts. As I said.. slow speeds. Yesterday things were fine - today most sites timeout and take veeery long to load, gmail, google reader, Twitter etc

Hi crazy_cat

Please PM your account details and I'll get someone to call you to assist.

Kind Regards
MWEB Operations

Sorry Pooky, we're lovers not fighters :D - we could ask them nicely if you like?

Please do, apparently my exchange is overloaded and that's why my latency is high.

Good news though, my latency with Mweb is the same as an Openweb UNSHAPED account and better than Afrihost!

That is good news :) I'm sure we have your account details already, I'll see what can be done tomorrow to get an update on the status of your exchange.

Never got that email address...
Although Steam seems to be running normally now so either the issue was resolved or it's just a weekend thing?

Sorry that was me being stupid with the PM system - sent now.

@ MWEB
This is sort of my last ditch attempt to try and get a long standing issue resolved with my ADSL line.

I have exhausted my options with the Telkom fault process, which only saw a result of my ADSL line speed dropped to 1mbps from a 4mbps line. This unfortunately has not resolved my issues and even last night at around 23h00 I could not load a simple web page due to time-outs, let alone get a speed test done. I make use of various ISP's for different needs, one of which is a 512 uncapped MWEB account (which is brilliant btw). Due to the fact that I don't only surf the internet, but have found many other uses for it, Telkom refuses to do anything to resolve the issues, which is (as with many others) caused by an overloaded UMC box.

My question then is whether MWEB can assist me in getting this issue resolved, or at least improved to some extent? If not, I will have no choice but to cancel my ADSL line and all other ISP accounts and seek one of the many wireless options out there. Any comments would be much appreciated.

Oh and sorry, I know this is a bit off topic.
